Why American Adoptions is One of the Best National Adoption Agencies

What Makes Our National Adoption Agency Unique

There are many types of adoption professionals that offer a wide range of services – including adoption law firms, adoption law centers, adoption facilitators and local and national adoption agencies.

A national adoption agency services prospective birth parents and adoptive families throughout the U.S., and in some cases, abroad. You’ve got a lot of options when it comes to national domestic adoption agencies — but there’s really no better choice than American Adoptions.

As a fully licensed agency, American Adoptions is one of the nation's largest national adoption agencies that can claim licensing in several states. That means we can provide more services and support than other national adoption agencies. We’ve helped thousands of birth and adoptive parents through their adoption journeys, and we’d be honored to help you, too.

But, with other national, licensed adoption agencies out there, why work with American Adoptions?

We’re glad you asked. Below, find out what makes American Adoptions one of the best national adoption agencies out there. You can also request free information online anytime.

How National Adoption Agencies Help Prospective Birth Mothers

A national adoption agency in the United States can provide a prospective birth mother a full range of adoption services, including:

National adoption agencies typically offer more comprehensive services than local adoption agencies — making them the ideal choice for pregnant women considering adoption.

But what makes American Adoptions one of the top national adoption agencies for prospective birth parents?

Our agency has helped expectant mothers find the perfect families for their children for more than 25 years. Over that time, we’ve developed a list of services to meet the needs of these women. We know how hard placing a child for adoption can be, which is why we’ll be here to make it as easy as possible.

Like many national domestic adoption agencies, we have a wide outreach and work with families across the country of all different races, ages, ethnicities and more. Whether a prospective birth mother wants her child to grow up in a large city or small rural town, or have siblings, pets, a large extended family or a small family, there will most certainly be an adoptive family available that meets her criteria with our national adoption agency.

We will help you find the perfect family for your child but not just through print profiles. We’re one of the only national adoption agencies to offer video profiles — a way for you to get to know waiting parents and their personalities much better!

Additionally, you’ll have access to counseling and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. At American Adoptions, you will be assigned your own adoption specialist, who will guide you throughout each step of the adoption journey. Our staff also includes those who were adopted, adoptive families and those who have placed a child for adoption — giving you a unique insight into all the facets of adoption.

And our support doesn’t end after placement — our staff will always be here to support you in the years ahead, counseling you through the hard times and helping you celebrate the joys. If you wish to continue your education, we can help you do so through our birth parent scholarship program.

Wherever you’re at in your personal adoption journey, American Adoptions will be here to help. Find out how the best national adoption agency in the country can make your process easier by calling us at 1-800-ADOPTION or contacting us online.

How National Adoption Agencies Help Adoptive Families

A national adoption agency can offer adoptive families a full range of services, including home study services, advertising to locate potential birth parents, help connecting with a prospective birth mother, legal work, support and more.

At American Adoptions, we do all of this and more. We can provide more comprehensive services than local adoption agencies. We have a greater outreach through endeavors with hospitals, crisis pregnancy centers, local schools and other professionals across the country. Therefore, a national adoption agency like ours offers much more community outreach than other adoption professionals, such as an adoption law center or adoption facilitator.

And, thanks to this outreach, we have more opportunities to locate potential birth parents, resulting in more accurate wait times. Local negative adoption media reports or changes in state laws often do not affect the wait times of our national adoption agency, due to our large outreach.

American Adoption is also licensed in several states, giving you a peace of mind that our services are reviewed yearly by multiple government officials. We are held to the highest standards — and we pass that along with only the best services for you.

So, what makes American Adoptions one of the best domestic adoption agencies for would-be parents? In addition to the standard services other national adoption agencies in the U.S. provide, we offer:

When you work with American Adoptions, you will also receive guidance from a personalized adoption specialist. They will support you through every step of your journey, answering your questions and helping you create an adoption plan tailored to your preferences and goals. We will also be there for post-placement support as long as you need us, providing counseling and guidance through the challenges and joys of being an adoptive parent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need to retain our own attorney?

No, American Adoptions has established relationships with some of the best adoption attorneys in the nation. Because adoption laws vary from state to state and between counties, it is important to utilize the services of an adoption attorney who specializes in the state where the adoption will finalize, which is unknown until you match with an expectant mother. You have the right to retain your own attorney, but doing so may be an additional, unnecessary expense.

Can we choose the gender of our baby?

American Adoptions does not allow gender specificity in adoption. Any family who wishes to be gender-specific in their adoption should contact us at 1-800-ADOPTION and ask about the possibility of an exception waiver before taking any other steps toward adoption with our agency. Any families who do receive an exception to be gender-specific may also incur an additional fee, which helps cover the additional advertising costs of such a request.

Please note that gender specificity will likely increase your wait time significantly.
