July 09, 2006 Can we make changes to our Adoptive Family Profile?Posted At: 08:05:02 AM | Posted By: Admin
Megan, can we ever make changes to our Adoptive Family Profile during the wait period? Am I able to do this and is there a cost to do this?
Yes, you can make changes to your profile at any time during the adoption process. It is easiest to make changes before you are active, so it is encouraged that you take a good look at the profile proof before giving Digital Graphiti Studios (DGS) the ok to complete it. Every adoptive family should double check spelling and grammar even though American Adoptions checks because things can be overlooked. Every adoptive family should make sure they are happy with the photos DGS has chosen for the profile as well. If enough time has passed (close to year) or you have had significant changes to home/employment etc while you are active then you may want to update the profile. DGS has a scale for profile updates and charges are figured based on the amount of changes requested. Updated photos and text are crucial sometimes and can be worth additional charges. Your Adoptive Family Specialist may provide this suggestion for you to make some changes, but it is ultimately up to each adoptive family to keep their profile looking current and updated. Profile changes are done directly through Digital Graphiti but your Adoptive Family Specialist can provide feedback and assistance with this process. If you ever have a question about your profile or want to consider changes, check with your Specialist as she can provide you with the best feedback about if you should make the change or not. Making changes too early on or unnecessarily are not encouraged, but there are some changes that can be very beneficial and worth it.
