Mike and JoAnn's Adoption Story

Dear American Adoptions,

We just wanted to express our appreciation for all your help with our two adoptions. We now have two beautiful daughters. Both of our adoptions went quickly and smoothly. We waited just three months to be matched each time. Everyone we worked with was pleasant and helpful. Let me tell you about our experiences.

In December 2000, we became active. In March 2001, we received a phone call about a situation. We accepted the situation and in May 2001 our first daughter, Lindsey was born.

In January 2002, we were contacted by your agency and advised that our first birth mother was pregnant and wanted to know if we would be interested in adopting her baby due in August, and of course we said yes. Unfortunately, that situation did not work out. She had the baby and didn't tell the agency, but gave him to the birth father. Needless to say we were pretty upset. Your agency was once again very helpful. We were actually offered a situation right away, but the birth mother's drug usage was a little more than we were comfortable with, so we decided to update our profile and become active with the agency again, and again in only three months we were in a match.

In January 2003, we received the call. This time the baby was already born. Once again, we had a healthy baby girl. Her name is Alexandra.
