Eric & Rikka's Adoption Story

Our story of adoption was a fairy-tale dream-come-true. It honestly could not have gone more smoothly. We decided early on that we were interested in adopting twins. We got a call days after we completed all our paperwork saying a birthmother with twins was ready to make the decision to put her children up for adoption. She was due in 6 months. Over the next few months we had phone conversations with Trish and got to know her very well. We met at the hospital the morning she was to give birth. Rikka was in the room with her while the C-Section was performed. The hospital let us have a room and the kids stayed with us. We visited Trish every day and stayed until she was discharged. We have kept in touch over the past 3 years and will continue to do so. American Adoptions was helpful and did a good job educating us as first time parents as well as first time adoptive parents. The experience couldn't have been more rewarding. And now, three years later, our family is perfect, well, as perfect as it can be with two three year olds tearing through the house.
