Sheila's Adoption Story

In 1974, my brother and I were adopted by a couple who were unable to have children biologically. In 1994, I met my birth family (other than my brother) for the first time. It was exciting.

In 1989, I became pregnant and decided that it would be best for the child if I put her up for adoption. I had no college degee, no family support, and nothing to offer my daughter, Victoria.

Seventeen years later, I received a phone call from Victoria (now Brittany) and just last month, my younger children and I went to meet her and her parents. She is coming to see us, and will now be a part of our lives forever.
