Yes it helps if your a foster parent you will need an approved homestudy also if you know a child that is in state custody unless your a family member of the child their is little chance the state will even consider a non family member for a child since the child would already be in a stable home. Take care, I was a foster mom to 24 children and we did adopt 2 of our children from the state foster system. best wishes 'Terrie
