| Wendy | Posted: Jan 31, 2005 10:13:36 PM Amy, I am not sure what the age requirements are at American Adoptions. I am 27 and never thought to ask. I can tell you though that everyone at AA is very helpful. My husband and I are hoping to be activated in the next month or so. I would give them a call. Good Luck!! And just remember you have the rest of your life to adopt a child (no biological clock ticking with that : ) Best Wishes, Wendy | ||
| Amy | Posted: Jan 21, 2005 10:42:00 AM Hi, I am 21 years old and my husband is 24 years old and we have 2 bio. children. We have been trying to conceive for 2 years now with no luck. I feel led to adopt and thats what we have been talking about, but I run into age requirements and I don't qualify. My infertilty has had me really down ever since and the thought of adoption brought me hope. Several family members have adopted including my own. My brother was adopted, and it was the greatest thing that ever happened to me. I was an only child for 15 years until he came along. He helped make me the mother I am today. When my brother came to us at 2 years of age, my motherly insticts popped in immediately. My mom had to tell me over and over to let her be the mom. So anyway, I am waiting to hear if this place has an age requirement or not. I have heard from several other places saying they are very hopeful for me and my situation because I am young with experience and maybe a younger person would relate better to us than an older couple. Anyway, we are really looking into adoption just have to find the right place. I wanted to share my story with you guys for some reason. Thanks~Amy, from Indiana. | ||
