| Lindsay | Posted: Sep 10, 2005 08:06:48 PM I myself am lesbian and thinking about adopting a child. I've been in a great relationship w/ a wonderful woman for 5 years, and if I chose not to have a child myself, I'd like to adopt. But I hate to think of the hurdles we'll face. We're just as capable to raise a family as anyone else. (and in several cases more so) We're both 25-30, own our own home and have well paying professional jobs. I've just started my search on agencies, so if anyone hears of one that could help us, please post something. PS - I expected hateful and mean responses to this topic, and I was pleasantly suprized, thank you for being so open-minded!!! | ||
| Anonymous | Posted: Jul 23, 2005 01:20:23 PM yes, just cause someone is gay doesn't mean they won't/can't give a loving home. the US is suppose to be a free country and respect people rights. And what the US is not Realizing is that they are taking away people right just cause they love differently | ||
| Bev | Posted: Mar 04, 2005 04:09:32 PM I am a married woman and a mother of a teenage child. I think that if a person or couple can provide a loving, nurturing and secure environment it should not matter if they are gay. I think the key here for any adult that wants a child is that they do not flaunt their sex life in front of the child. That they create a home that is focused on the family and age appropiate discussions with the child. If a single person wants to be a parent, it would be confusing to the child when others are brought into the home, so the first priority must be child - regardless of the adult's needs or wants. | ||
