Good Afternoon Ladies, I hope that everyone had a great weekend. Whitney, I know that you have waited for 13 months now so I have a ? for you. When you had to get your homestudy renewed how involved was it? Ours expires at the end of August so I wasn't sure how far in advance I need to get the ball rolling. I am assuming that we will have to repeat our background checks and our fingerprints as well. I just want to be prepared. I hope that everyone has a great week and maybe someone will get "the call". That would make for a perfect Mother's Day gift.

hi everybody, we adopted through AA almost 2 years ago. our adoption agreement for our 2nd adoption should reach the office today. i am so excited!!! also nervous about bringing a second child in the home... i love our little guy so much i can't imagine loving another as much as i love him.

WhitneyPosted: May 07, 2007 06:09:46 AM
Lisa, our move went well thanks. We have most of our things moved and in place and just have a few more trips left to the old house. We worked real hard all week to get it about done. We have been in the T2 program about 2 months, and have waited about 13 months total. Of course our wait is easier as we have a wonderful daughter, I just thought she would have a baby brother or sister by now. Some families seem to wait no time and they add new faces every week. I always dreaded Mother's Day before we adopted Kaitlin, and I will keep you in my prayers for peace and patience and a match! To all the new moms, enjoy your first Mother's Day as I know you have waited for it a long time!

I think of all of you everyday who are still waiting to be matched or waiting for your little one to arrive!! All of you are in my thoughts and prayers and it will all happen soon!!! Jenn - I am so eager to hear your story...I seen on the website too where you are showing "CONGRATULATIONS, COMPLETED ADOPTION" and it brought tears to my eyes. I know how badly you've wanted this and how patient you've waited. I'm sending Baby Blessings your way!!! Carol

LisaPosted: May 04, 2007 11:27:02 AM
Whitney, How did your move go? I am sure that it will take a little while to get settled, but it is keeping you busy. I am getting very anxious. We have now waited 8 months in the T2 program. I am trying to will my phone to ring. I was hoping that we would have heard something by Mother's Day. I am not looking forward to it. Trish, Any news???? Angel, Your homestudy will be completed soon and you will be one step closer. Hang in there. Have a great weekend everyone!!

WhitneyPosted: May 04, 2007 08:05:09 AM
Lisa, I hope we both get good news soon! I am tired of waiting and ready as I am sure you all are. I can't wait to hear your story Jenn and hear all about your little girl!

no we stoped foster care almost 2 yr ago. i went to school to be a vet tech asst. then desided I missed being a mom to much to wait any longer to be a mom . we are still waiting on our home study our worker had and emergincey with her owen children and was out of comission for a week. but she say they are doing better. but she is still waiting on my background screenings also so I guess there is no rush on her part since she cant finish the home studiy intill she gets them I contacted AA and they said they wait till all has come in and they are still waiting on the child abuse report. but my FBI has come backalready. I was really hopeing that my home study would be donr and we would be activated by mother day but that dosent look like its going to happen. Speaking of mother day. HAPPY MOTHER DAY TO ALL NEW MOM AND SOON TO BE MOMS. and dont forget to keep us posted on how your finnal day worked out to help us all.

Hi everyone! Jenn, I keep checking the waiting families list to see if you guys are still posted there. I guess you guys are with your birth mom now, just waiting for your little one to arrive. I am so excited for you! Jim and I are on pins and needles now, as our birth moms due date is just a week away. We found out that she is having a little boy! As of this week, he is all ready 8 lbs, so I'm not sure if they'd let her go too far past her due date. Angel, welcome to the forum! Do you still have foster children at home with you? Will you have the opportunity to adopt them as well?

CarolPosted: Apr 25, 2007 05:16:30 PM
Jenn...I'm so EXCITED for you!!!!! You are going to be having so much fun with your new baby girl...Embrace every minute of it!!! Make sure you keep us posted on when she arrives!!!! Good Luck!!

WendyPosted: Apr 23, 2007 09:26:19 PM
Jenn, I will be thinking of you and hoping everything goes great! The whole process is really so amazing and I am still in awe of our son and his birth mommy. Cannot wait to hear an update!

WhitneyPosted: Apr 23, 2007 09:20:07 AM
Carol, it is hard to believe it has been a month since she was born. I can't believe she has that much hair. Enjoy it because they grow up too fast! My baby is almost 3! Jenn - you all will be in my prayers the next few days. I hope all goes well with travel and the birth and BM. Hope she is induced soon as I know you all are ready to mee the baby! We left 2 1/2 days before our BM was to be induced so we would have a day to get ready once we got there. Well she went into labor a day early, but we still ended up at the hospital 2 hours before she was born. God was watching out for us because we had stopped to spend the night at what we thought was an OK place. It was not as nice as we thought and we could not sleep so we left at 4 am, or else we would have arrived at the hospital after the birth. Good Luck!

JennPosted: Apr 22, 2007 09:53:18 PM
Carol, I can't believe Abby is 1 month old already! Time sure does fly and she isn't even my baby! We've been insanely busy the last few weeks with many things (which has been GREAT for dealing with the waiting). Our BM's due date was pushed out to the 21st. Then, last week, she decided that she'd like to be induced because she's having a lot of back pain and having trouble carrying the weight. Since this is her first pregnancy and there was no guarantee that even the 21st would be accurate, she went to the OB on Friday and they decided that they would do an amnio test on Monday to make sure the baby is ready for the world outside. The results should be in on Tuesday and if all is well, they're going to induce on Tuesday. So, we're leaving either tomorrow evening or Tuesday morning (we're taking the leap of faith that she'll be induced Tues or Wed). We're SOOO EXCITED!!!!! Wish us luck!! :)

CarolPosted: Apr 19, 2007 08:59:23 PM
Hey everyone!! Angel welcome to the board. You are starting a wonderful journey with adoption. Whitney, glad you liked our story. We truly felt that we had an amazing experience with every aspect of the agency and our birthmother and her family. Hopefully, both of you will get phone calls soon!!! Abby just turned 1 month old this week. Time is already flying by fast. She has started grinning when we speak to her and making a few little cooing sounds...it's so adorable!! We are having her baby shower this weekend and I am looking so forward to showing her off to the rest of our family and friends. Keep us all posted on any news!!

WhitneyPosted: Apr 17, 2007 12:58:50 PM
Carol - I loved your story - it made me cry! You all make a great family and she is beautiful! I know you are enjoying every minute of being a mommy! No news on our end yet, just waiting and getting ready to move in a couple of weeks. We built a house and close April 30. Something to distract us for a few weeks.

Hi Angel and welcome! I saw you had many posts. It is a little scary at first and I had many questions, but it is not that bad during the process. We adopted our daughter through AA almost 3 years ago and we have been waiting a year for a second baby.
