Hi, I am on the verge of finding my birthson who was born on 05/21/87. I know all states have different laws, but this may help you.
I live in Michigan and was told that you can petition the court to unseal the records when you are 18.
Also, I was told that generally the child is placed in the same city that the adoption was finalized. If you can find that out you might have a lot more luck.
Who knows, your birthmother may be searching for you as well.
Good Luck honey!
God Bless,
Pattie in Michigan

| Amanda | Posted: Jun 15, 2005 02:23:53 AM I am 17. I was adopted when I was 10 days old and all I know about my parents is their first names and ethnicities. I need to know their medical history for myself and for when I get older and decide to start a family. I need to know how to do this because I need to know precautions and procedures to take for me and future family.
Someone please get me some answers because I am concerned for the future!
