| Susan | Posted: Aug 24, 2007 11:48:31 AM We bought stuff we should not have and I won't make that mistake again. The crib, car seat, pack & play, and that kind of stuff is generic for either gender. But since we were matched with a girl, I did buy a bunch of girl clothing. Now I'm stuck with it unless our next match is a girl. I just caution you to be very careful about that. Next time, I'd only buy generic color onesies and blankets. | ||
| juleskay | Posted: Aug 02, 2007 04:32:50 PM Thank you for your response. we have really nothing but we have been active almost 1 yr so I am leaning towards starting to buy the basics. I have looked into car seats and picked one we want. The nursery is painted but that is all I am using it for a scrapbooking room right now! Thanks for your input! | ||
| NicoleS1974 | Posted: Jul 25, 2007 02:29:12 PM We started buying items when we started trying for our own, so we have some stuff, but since we heard about the rate of disruption yesterday, I told my mom that I didn't want a shower until AFTER we bring the baby home. I just can't imagine all of those presents waiting in the nursery if something should happen.... But, as my husband said, we can go and furnish the entire nursery in one day, so I'm not too worried! :) | ||
| whitney | Posted: Jul 23, 2007 11:01:22 AM Hi Julie! It is really up to you when you buy stuff. Some families have gotten as little as a weeks notice, while some have 3 or 4 months notice. We set up nursery a few months after we were active because we wanted to have it done. We did a theme that would work for either sex in case we did not know ahead of time, or in case it did not work out. We had 3 months to prepare for our daughter and bought bottles and stuff then. We left to get her with the basics we needed and had showers when we returned. | ||
