| Melinda | Posted: Jul 26, 2005 10:51:46 AM Hi my name is Melinda. I just have a few questions. my husband and I have never adopted before and just wondering what is going on with ours. If what they are doing is right. and if what we are feeling is wrong. please help. I was wondering a few things. This is all new to us and don't know what to think about things. so here it is. My husband and I are looking at these 2 boys and their worker has our homestudy and has had it for a few weeks now. our agency called her about our homestudy and her said it looked good but before she did an interview she wanted to get a few more people first.. and that has my husband and I wondering. WHY WAIT ????? why not interview us now? why wait, she didn't give a time period or anything. Is this normal? how long does getting an interview normally take? do most s/w wait till they have a few parents before interviewing any of them? Its making us feel like she doesn't really want us. I have been doing alot of reading about ASD because one of the boys have it and the more I read about it the more I'm getting attached to something I might not get. I know adoption takes a long time. we have heard that from everyone... and I can deal with that but I don't want to have to wait forever just to get an interview and have her say no to something we want to badly. I feel like these boys are already ours. we are having dreams of them in our home and everything. Is this normal to have dream of them and to care for them so much and you haven't even seen them yet. I don't know. please any help would be great. Thanks, Melinda | ||
