D - I know your decision is so hard, especially since you are near the end. Do what you think is best and pray for God to lead you. Please let us know what you decide.

Other end of this. I am a 46 year old adoptee, and am searching for brth family. I know things are different now with agencies, but I don't think different for child. Now that this child will preobably want ot connect with you sometime down the road not for any reason except a possible "hey I see the resemblence, we are connected. Talk to family and go to a Support Group for ALL concerned, birthmothers, adoptee and adoptors. For ex. CUB concerned united birthmothers.

Dominique, the only thing I can tell you right now is I´ll pray for you, so you can find the best for you and your child. Talk to other birthmothers, talk to mothers that kept their babies, take advice from social workers, they are great in guiding you, that´s their job! Take your time and you will never regret your decision. I´ll be thinking of you.

Dominique, Even though my husband and I are planning to adopt, my heart aches for you. Since I have never been in your shoes the only advice I could give would be: 1) contact an adoption agency (american adoptions is wonderful). Whether you decide on adoption or not they will help walk you through your decision. Hopefully they would even have some birthmom's who have chosen adopton that would love to talk with you. 2) there is no need to make a fast decision!! there are many adoptive families that would be more than thrilled to adopt your child at several months old or older. Search ever option and avenue, until you are at peace with your decision. I will be thinking of you as you make your decision!!

I can't even imagine what you may be facing as you are considering placing your child up for adoption. I can only offer advice by being on the other end of the spectrum waiting to adopt a baby. In my opinion there are so many wonderful families prepared to love and raise a child if you feel this is something you cannot do at this time. Struggling with infertility and waiting and waiting on a baby prepares a couple in ways that are indescribable. You long for that child and your love grows and grows each day and I think adoptive families have so much to offer a baby because we have been preparing for it for so long. I believe you will have a peace that surrounds you if you choose adoption. Do what feels right. Don't let others persuade you into your decision. Say a little prayer and ask God to help you. Good luck in your journey and know that families are made by wonderful moms like you if this happens to be your decision.
