I really have a question. My nephew is 5 years old he has been with me since he was 2 months old. His birth mother is in prison and will not sign the adoption papers. Can I have her rights terminated with out a lot of cost since she is not due to get out until he is 9 years old. I have heard that in prison you have more rights than you or I do is that true and what can I do to to make sure that my sons life is not up routed when she gets out as I am the only Mother he knows. As well as do you know of any books that cover this type of issue I have tried to look for books on how to tell him that he is adopted or that I am not his birth mother but have found known that cover this type of issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
