| Heather | Posted: Jul 21, 2006 11:01:23 AM You can contact your local Child Welfare agency and let them know of your situation, or a private agency. Perhaps you only need short term foster care to get back on your feet? They can let you know of the odds of finding a placement for a pre-teen boy, I think it may be hard and he could age out in the system those are all things to consider. He could live with a kind foster family while waiting to adopt and many foster parents adopt their children! He could live in a group home while waiting for a placement kids seem to hate that but in many states once int he system over a certain age and time frame they can qualify for college and assisted living if no one every adopts them. not to sway you in any direction just some information! You could always ask a friend or relative to take guardianship. | ||
| Shaneil | Posted: Jul 13, 2006 02:37:19 PM How do you find a listing of adoption agencies that will place older children? I am desperate to place my 12 year old some for adoption, but cannot find anyone who will place him. | ||
