My search is for the couple who attempted to adopt me when I was an infant. My name is Joni Jean Michel - I was born October 29, 1953. My birth mom was abandoned by her husband (my bio father) in November of 1953 and found herself unable to care for her 4 children. My siblings and I were "given" to various relatives and such. I do know there were formal adoption papers filed in Wayne County, MI under my name. My mom had planned to give me up but changed her mind after approximately 18 months; I assume I lived with you all that time. I have not been able to access the adoption file to find out WHO you are. All I know and feel in my heart is that I was dearly loved and cherished. My mom has shared that, after she got me back, "you" would park your car across the street and watch me play outside in the yard....if I spyed you, I would go into fits of screaming because I wanted to BE WITH YOU. I don't remember any of this, but obviously you suffered a great deal (as any adoptive parent would) to no longer have "your" child. I SO desperately hope you are still alive! I am 52 now and my birth mom is 81. Her name is Gladys. At the time, I believe we lived near 12th Street and Temple, in Detroit. If ANY of this is familiar to you, or if anyone reads this and has ANY information to help me, PLEASE CONTACT ME. I have always wanted to tell you that I KNOW you loved me...the first year+ is so incredibly crutial to a child's development. I am praying that I will one day be able to talk with you and/or meet you. I NEED to know who you are! I need to THANK YOU for loving me as you did....and maybe still do. I would, however, understand if this is too painful to open up after all these years. Thank you...and again, if ANYONE knows anything...a realitive, friend, etc., who may ANYTHING, please don't hesitate to e-mail me. Peace & Blessings to all.
