| Tyler's Natural Mom | Posted: Feb 08, 2004 08:28:52 PM I saw that there was a message in this thread about wanting your adopted child to look like you. Please don't take this as an attack. It's not meant in a bad way. Why would having your adopted child look like you even be a consideration? As a natural mom (placed in 2000) it would have been a big concern for me if I had read something like that while I was looking for a family. It would have made me wonder if the potential adoptive parents had some unresolved infertility issues. | ||
| Lisa | Posted: Nov 06, 2003 02:19:08 AM The only reason that we chose domestic and not international is for reasons of attatchment and bonding. If you want to read any books on this there are many. The writer and seminar speaker that we have been most familiar with is Nancy Thomas. Once you see the reasoning put forth concerning attatchment and bonding it might really help you make this decision. | ||
| Bill and Jenn | Posted: Oct 25, 2003 07:30:32 AM We are considering adoption as well and we feel that if we adopt domesticly we have a better chance of the baby looking like us, but I think the waiting list would be longer. Let us know how you make out! BPC1976@adelphia.net | ||
