| Katie | Posted: May 07, 2006 12:54:46 PM Hello. My husband and I ae looking to adopt and have researched a lot. I think the BF rights can be terminated in some states but you might want to check and see what your specific laws are. Good luck.
| | ? | Posted: Jan 21, 2006 08:52:27 PM I got invaloved with my x-husband thinking things would go better this time. when he decided to leave again I had a hard time and now I find out Im pregnant does he have to be involved?
| | Anonymous | Posted: Mar 07, 2005 12:18:03 AM i recently found out that im pregnant, i informed the birth father, who has 3 different children by 3 other women, i would be number 4, i told him i wanted to give it up for adoption,he hates the idea, i will be entering prison in 25 days to serve about 8 moz, anyways, he said he wants to take care of the baby, be a dad, a single one if he has to, however, i know that would not be the best thing for the baby, he has a hard time staying employed, rarely sees the kids he has now, and i believe he is getting into drugs, can he stop me from giving up my baby?
| | Natalie | Posted: Jan 07, 2005 11:46:35 AM I think the birth father should be involved so the child knows when he is curious who he was.

| | Pua | Posted: May 27, 2004 09:20:54 PM What if the birth father is in the military, and married? I really dont want him to be envolved. But I know that he is.
| | Michelle | Posted: Apr 05, 2004 05:45:50 PM Hi, my name is Michelle and hopefully i have some answers that you are looking for. Yes, you can certainly place your baby without the involvement of the birth father. However, depending on the state you live in he may have to be notified if you know his whereabouts. Hovever, like someone said previously his rights can be terminated through the court and he does not have to be involved in your adoption plan. It is common for birth fathers to run and leave once they find out that their girlfriend has become pregnant so do not feel alone. I placed my son for adoption 6 years ago and it was one of the best decisions i have ever made. My son is so happy and i look forward to getting those pictures and letters for the adoptive family so i can continue to watch him grow. Good luck and i hope this helped!
| | rachel carr | Posted: Jan 31, 2004 01:06:06 AM I got pregnant on a one night stand. I chose adoption shortly after he skipped town. You can place an adoption regardless of a birthfather's presence. In my case, and yours i am sure, the court will waive his rights for him if he doesn't want to be involved, or if you don't want him to be involved. The only problem with it is that it takes longer to complete. In the end, if you are worried about him getting in the way, it is a bit more um, safe. Adoption is the best thing I have ever done! I had an open adoption. I got married last july and they even came to my wedding. If you need any confidence, or any advice, you can drop me a line!
| | Megan Olsen | Posted: Jan 21, 2004 09:00:50 AM I have to say that i dont think that the father should be involved in this decision. If he walked out on you then thats his problem not yours....You had this baby and your decision should be the one that counts...
| | Shannon | Posted: Oct 13, 2003 12:04:30 PM I don't know where the father is. Can I still place my baby for adoption?
