| mirthe | Posted: Sep 11, 2004 07:51:30 AM Dear sarah and Delia, In France you van due the baby in a clinic and do not have said you're name. also you can go to an attorney and ask then to help find adoptive parents. it's also legal to ask the attorney if the adoptive parents will be acknowledge the baby before birth. So you make the choice for you're adoptive parents. The attorney can help you with documents and judge. It can in France,Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. | ||
| Amanda | Posted: Sep 05, 2004 04:15:31 PM Sara and Delia... I don't know much about the process from your standpoint, but was wondering, if you have to go through an agency in your home countries? Maybe you should contact an attorney to find out if there are other options... My husband and I are an American family living in Germany... we have a biological son, but are hoping to adopt a daughter... I can only imagine what it must be like to consider giving your child for adoption... Just remember, there are many families who would love to have an opportunity to raise your precious gift. I wish you both the best of luck! And I would love to hear from you, if you would like to talk... I would be very interested to hear what you both find out. Amanda | ||
| Delia | Posted: Jul 11, 2004 12:02:15 AM Dear Sara, Did you get an answer? I am in the same situation, but I'm from Romania. Pease, let me know if somebody can help us. | ||
| Sara | Posted: Jun 27, 2004 07:03:43 AM Do you know if it is possible to place a baby for adoption in the USA if you live outside the U.S. (Germany) Are there agencies that work with birthmothers outside the U.S.? In Germany, the situation for birthmoms is terrible. They are not allowed to chose the adoptive parents, the agency chooses them. Birthmoms can only tell wishes about the prospective adoptive family and the agency will try to find a family that matches with those but it is not guaranteed. Also almost all adoptions are closed. Open adoption is extremely unpopular. | ||
