| Marla | Posted: May 07, 2004 01:44:48 AM Yes, you can recieve updates. I get a monthly letter and pictures of my son I gave up for adoption. It is a piece of mind knowing what he's doing and that he's okay, and being able to see what he looks like.

Most families are happy to give updates including pictures, letters and sometimes videos so that you can be assured that your child is growing up happy and healthy. All you have to do is communicate with the agency to make sure that they introduce you to families that are comfortable with the same level of openess that you are. With my own experience, I was very eager to share with our birthmom pictures, etc. so that she would know how much her child was loved.

| mary | Posted: Oct 29, 2003 08:13:33 PM IT'S ONLY NATURAL TO WANT TO KNOW HOW YOUR CHILD IS DOING. WE CAN NOT SPEAK FOR OTHER ADOPTIVE COUPLES, WE CAN ONLY SAY THAT AS A COUPLE WAITING TO ADOPT, WE UNDERSTAND THAT IT WAS A BIG DECISION TO COME TO AND THAT ONLY SHOWS US HOW MUCH YOU CARE ABOUT THAT CHILD TO WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT IN SOMEWAY OR ANOTHER.
