![]() Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and for considering allowing us the opportunity to love and provide a safe, stable home for your child. We are extremely excited to have a child be a part of our family and to share each new day with that child. Please be assured that we will love your child unconditionally and teach this child the same great qualities we were taught by our own loving parents - honesty, integrity, respectfulness, and to be a hard worker. God bless you for considering adoption and for potentially changing our lives through your decision. This child may be the answer to our prayers and us, as parents, the answer to your prayers! |

The family traditions that stand out in our minds most occur at Christmastime. We go to Michele's parents' home on Christmas Eve where her Mom has a candy tree full of life savers, candy bars, candy canes, Hershey's kisses, jolly ranchers and beautiful ribbons and bows! It has been a tradition for Mom to construct such a tree since she was just a freshman in high school. We also have homemade stockings stuffed full of treats! We all join together and read from the bible about the birth of Jesus and each family member says a prayer. After that Dad, Santa-like in appearance with his long, gray beard, hands out the many Christmas gifts.
It's early to rise on Christmas Day as we are off to Andy's parents' home for a wonderful Christmas breakfast. The only thing better than the food is the fellowship . . . and the presents of course! Christmas evening we're all off to Grandma's house for a delicious dinner and more desserts than one could possibly imagine!
We both had a good, Christian upbringing. When we got married we wanted to start our family right away. After three years of trying, the doctor told us that we should think about adoption. Hurt and disappointed, we began to search for answers. Not only did we pray, but our families and extended family members also prayed for us. Then our answer came through faith -- seek adoption. Without God in our lives and our faith in Him, we would have never made it this far. We thank God for guiding us along the way and thank Him for His love. We pray for God to guide us in raising this child in a spiritual environment.
After years of trying to have children, Michele's cousin and her husband also chose adoption to complete their family. Their love and pride shows through their little girl's face with every smile she gives to others. They have truly been blessed. From the time we have spent with them, watching their faces light up every time they look at their daughter, we know in our hearts that adoption is the right choice for us. They quite frequently send pictures and progress reports to the birth parents. We also intend to keep the birth parents informed of their child's progress through pictures and letters, and when the time is right, this child will be told of his/her adoption.
Our favorite childhood memories are of time spent with family. Andy has fond memories of swimming and building roads in the garden dirt to drive his trucks and tractors on with his Dad; of having his Mom wake him every morning for school and be there when he got home with dinner cooking on the stove; of fighting with his sisters, all the while knowing that if anybody else tried to do the same, he would be the first to stand up for them; of spending Sundays at Grandma's house eating the best dumplings in the county; of spending time with his uncle in the garage and even going on vacation with him as if he were one of his own children. One specific memory that stands out is taking Grandpa to town in his truck and rear ending a car, with Grandpa's only response being "I think you got a little close."
Michele's memories include playing the usual childhood card games of Old Maid, Go Fish and Crazy 8, as well as creating many masterpieces for her Mom to display using whatever materials were available at the time. One specific memory is of a beautiful spring day when Grandpa and Grandma visited. Grandpa constructed newspaper kites that the kids flew in the breezy sky most of the afternoon. Mom and Grandma served up some delicious refreshments to top off a perfect day!
These are the kinds of memories we would like to pass on to our children.
