What qualities do I love/admire/respect about Betsy? Betsy is my best friend, and she has many wonderful qualities that make it easy for me to love and admire her. She maintains a sunny outlook on life, no matter what she is going through. She is an extremely patient person who I can always count on for honest advice and genuine, loving support during all of the challenges we face together. I have been blessed by having Betsy in my life, and I know that those same traits that I love about her will enable her to be a great mom!

What qualities do I love/admire/respect about Jeff? Jeff is my best friend and makes me proud to be his wife. He has a great work ethic, and is always there for me, he warms my heart, and always makes me smile. He is a wonderful husband and provider. We have a safe home, in a nice neighborhood, and we are financially comfortable. Jeff doesn't change important things without thinking about them and talking about them with me. He has plans and goals for our future, and for our family's future. He's always been a hard, and smart worker, ever since he started his paper route at age 12. Jeff is loved by many friends and family members. He has been looking forward to being a dad for a long time, and I know he will be a wonderful, patient, and fun dad.

Since both our families live back in the Midwest, we usually take a week or so to see them around Christmas. Both our families live 12 miles from each other, so we do a lot of traveling between them, and visiting other relatives, like Jeff's Aunt and Uncle, cousins and friends from school. For Easter we like to go to Church, then have a nice dinner and spend some quality time together as a family.

Betsy's family always has a big picnic and family get together for the 4th of July, so we are used to a big summer picnic. Jeff tries out new barbecues or grill rubs, and makes lots of hotdogs for Betsy and the kids. We have a lot of friends near us, so we spend a lot of weekends, and usually Thanksgiving, with them. Our birthdays are one week apart, so we celebrate both birthdays all week long.

We believe that Children are the greatest gift from God, and charities that help children are very close to our hearts. We sponsor two wonderful kids from Bolivia. Carla and Jose' are both smart, happy kids. We learn a lot about their lives and families, and share back with them about the United States. They always ask a lot of questions about America, and send us pictures and drawings.

Jeff and I have been volunteering for the Samaritan's Purse Christmas Shoeboxes for a few years now, through our Church, and this is such a fun way to bring smiles to little kids who may never have had Christmas.

Every November, we love to help out with Samaritan's Purse. During the year, we gather things for the box - dolls, toys, and school supplies - then we put it all together into the shoeboxes. Our Church has a few days where we can go in and help inspect and load truckloads of shoeboxes. It's great to try to guess where your shoebox may go, and knowing you gave a present to a total stranger, to help them understand that with Jesus' help, we sent them gifts to celebrate His birthday.

We are also passionate about staying out of debt, so we can provide a comfortable, stress-free home. Our investments and savings will allow us to provide a College Education for children, if they want to go. We plan on talking about their futures with them, and helping them find a career they truly enjoy.
