Dyeing Easter Eggs With Our Niece

Our child will always know that we became a family through adoption and we will speak of adoption as a process filled with great LOVE. We will explain their adoption story and how they came into the world. Nicole plans on making a scrapbook detailing the child's birth and life. What wonderful stories our child will get to hear! We plan to talk openly about how we became part of the same family. Our child will know that his/her birth parents loved them very much by giving them life and then again by making the difficult and emotional decision to place for adoption. Our child will know how long we prayed and waited for him/her to join our family. Our child will be loved by not only us, but also our large extended family and friends. We plan to celebrate not only birthdays, but also the day the child officially becomes a member of our family. Our child will feel so special and so very loved.

Playing House with Our Nieces

Fulfilling our dream of being parents will be the biggest honor and joy that we could ever imagine. It is also a big responsibility that we will take very seriously. We believe children are a special gift from God and that being a parent is the most important calling in life. We will love this child with all of our hearts and we will both play an active and equal role in raising our child. We will instill values and morals to nurture and help this child develop and reach their utmost potential through support, love and understanding. We believe that to be a good parent we must love a child unconditionally, always be there for them, be attentive to their needs, listen to them, provide them with a loving home and be good role models by setting examples for them to follow. We are most looking forward to reading bedtime stories, playing and laughing with them, teaching them new things, cheering them on at sporting events, taking family vacations, discovering and enjoying all of the "first's" that life has to offer, and just making family lifetime memories together. We both work full time, but are fortunate enough to have flexible work schedules. Once we become parents, Nicole plans on cutting back her work week to enjoy this new baby. Because we've waited so long for a child, we feel we will be in a better position to truly appreciate a child. Day to day activities, not just special occasions, will be cherished. Over the years we've had a lot of experience with children, which has prepared us to be parents. One of the greatest gifts we could hope to pass on to our children is our commitment of faith and love.

Bound for the Caribbean

We typically take one major family vacation a year, along with frequent weekend getaways. Our favorite trips have been aboard various cruise ships traveling to warm destinations to escape the winters of the mid west for a week. We love the feel of the ocean air, the endless activities and entertainment on board and the delicious food. We like to participate in the games and contests on the ship, and enjoy making new friends. We always look forward to several of the ships ports of call and the exciting shore excursions. It's always fun to observe the various cultures and customs that each country has to offer. One of our favorite stops is Jamaica. We have visited Jamaica twice and we really enjoyed the breathtaking climb to the top of Dunns River Falls. We also love visiting Orlando and all the water and amusement parks that are in the area. We are truly children at heart and we plan to take our child on fun and exciting family vacations to create lifelong memories.
