Our favorite vacation spot is Disney World in Orlando, Florida. John proposed during our first trip there on the balcony of our hotel room, overlooking Epcot in the evening. We were able to watch the fireworks from the balcony that evening, and it was such a magical experience. Since then, we have returned every couple of years to relax and enjoy the magic. We go not only for sentimental reasons, but also because we have so much fun! On our last few trips, we went with our three goddaughters and their parents. And just this year we had the joy of taking our daughter Jamie for the first time. We had so much fun enjoying the rides and shows with our girls and our goddaughers! Disney World is great as an adult, but even more fun with children. The girls love the Disney princesses and Mickey Mouse and we made sure they were able to get pictures and autographs with them. Kelly and Jamie have even had their first hair cuts in the Magic Kingdom. The memories we have of our trips together are priceless and we can't wait to return again.
Both of our daughters came to our family through adoption. We have always been open about the experience with family and friends, and we continue to talk about adoption within our family. It has been an amazing and positive experience for our family. It is through the generous act of love that our family has been made possible. Both of our girls have adoption books that include all the details we know about their adoption story and birth family. We continue to share any details we know with them whenever appropriate. We have many children's books related to adoption in our home, and we read them frequently. We believe it is important to acknowledge adoption and provide our children with the security and comfort to ask questions and talk about how our family was made possible. We also send letters and pictures to our daughters' birth mom, and we plan to do the same for our next child's birth parents. We believe it is important to acknowledge all the important people in our children's lives.
In her free time, Cathy loves to curl up with a good book. She also likes to scrapbook and record memories of all the important moments in our lives. She hopes to document as much of the adoption process as possible to share with our children in the future. It will be a wonderful way to introduce them to adoption and their birth family.
John has a large variety of interests and hobbies. He loves to golf, bike, and swim and spend time outside. He enjoys watching movies from his extensive movie collection and playing video games. He also loves to participate in and watch many different sports including soccer, football, hockey and stock car racing. Whenever he has the opportunity, he loves to scuba dive and learn about marine wildlife.
Our favorite activity together is spending time with each other, and especially playing with our daughters, Kelly and Jamie. Kelly loves to go to the park to play on the slides and swing, and is also very enthusiastic about the pool. She has taken swim lessons since she was 6 months old, and can swim really well. Jamie adores her older sister and tries to do everything Kelly does. She has recently started swim classes and is also doing really well. We have a lot of fun spending time with both of our girls.
