Another child placed in our home would make our family complete, bring more joy to our home and hearts. It would give us the opportunity to share with another what we have. We look forward to watching the children grow, teach, but to also learn and laugh. There is nothing in this world as sweet as a child's laughter and to know that you are responsible for that laughter, what better gift could someone give to the world, to each other than the sound of a happy, loved child. Children enrich our lives and our families' lives.

How Adoption Has Affected Us
After several miscarriages, we chose adoption rather than going through infertility treatments because the uncertainty, and the emotional roller coaster. We did not want to go through that experience. Since Melissa and her sister were both adopted, it just seemed natural to turn to adoption. We adopted our son Noah when he was an infant. He has brought so much joy and love to our lives, words just can not explain. We both have siblings and can not imagine our lives without them; we know Noah would feel the same way. He has been waiting for the day to watch over a baby sister or brother.
We believe that adoption is the most unselfish act of love a person can give. Any child who is adopted is so very special and so much loved. Each day we look at Noah and we are so thankful that he is in our lives.
Discussion of Adoption
Melissa and her sister were told at a young age that they were adopted. In fact they do not remember a time that they did not know. We decided that we would tell Noah when he was able to understand. When we decided to tell him our decision of adopting a baby, he asked us if he was adopted. We were slightly relieved that he opened up the subject. We explained to him that his birth parents chose us from all of the other couples, to be his parents. That this was the greatest gift a
person can give another. That he, his mommy, and Aunt Christine are very special, because we are adopted. Noah then informed us that Tuesday the dog is also very special since we adopted him. We can not argue that point. We will explain to any child that is placed with us how very special they are. We will answer any questions openly and honestly, always reassuring that that he or she is so loved and very special.
What We Do for Fun and Our Leisure Time
In the winter we are skiing and snowmobiling, in the summer we are swimming, hiking, riding horses and going to the shore. We can always be found outside in the yard or walking the dog.
We have a vacation house in the mountains that we often go to on the weekends. In the winter, we will spend the day skiing and the evenings watch a movie, work on the puzzle (we have been working on one for the past 2 years that is all white, in the shape of a snowflake) play dominos or battleship.
In the summer we enjoy hiking, grilling and going to town for ice-cream. If it is a really hot day there are several lakes/ponds where you can swim and have a picnic. There are many facilities that rent Kayaks and Canoes for boating on the lakes and streams. Many of the ski resorts offer rides and attractions. It is great to get away and just have time to be together as a family. Our cousins also have a house near ours and we often meet for lunch, dinner or both.
Getting together with family, friends and their children is another one of our favorite things to do. We enjoy entertaining in our
vacation home. Anything goes there. Friends and family often come up for the weekend, we enjoy just sitting and listening to the children laugh and play.
