Celebrating Daddy's Birthday

Our son, Evan, is our special blessing that came to us through adoption in 2009. We will be forever grateful to his birthparents for this gift of love. We drove through the night and were able to be there for his birth. It was even more extra special to be there with him and his birthmother from minute one.

The past two plus years have been amazing. The love that we have for one another has only deepened and the love and joy that we have experienced with Evan have been beyond what we could have ever imagined. Adoption has enabled us to realize our dream of having a family. He is our special boy whom we deeply cherish and love.

Aside from ourselves and Evan as always being here for your child to talk to about their adoption we offer plenty of support from others as well. We both have family and close friends who are children of adoption and also belong to a neighborhood family adoption group who meet regularly for cookouts and parties. We cherish these relationships and common bonds and consider ourselves extremely lucky to have this support network.

Our adoption journey has been such a positive and rewarding experience and we are thrilled over the possibility of sharing our love that we have for one another and Evan with your child and hopeful it will become a reality.

Just Being Together

We definitely work hard but make it a priority to play hard as well. In our free time we enjoy many forms of entertainment and especially spending quality time at home together with Evan and Walter-dog. We just like hanging out, playing outside with Evan's toys, going for walks and to the park and watching movies. We love cooking together and experimenting with new recipes and preparing them for willing friends and family. Our favorite back up plan is that we can always order out for pizza!

Having Fun in the Keys!

Throughout the year we attend area festivals and frequently visit the zoo, children's museum and aquarium which are big favorites of Evan's. Annually we try to escape the deep freeze of winter whether it is to the warmth of the ocean or the desert in Arizona. We recently returned from a trip to the Florida Keys and we had so much fun building sandcastles and collecting sea shells with Evan!

We both love music and the arts and go to many music concerts and theatre performances whenever we can. We both play the guitar and Melissa sings. Evan loves music as well and is always a willing participant and enjoys playing the drums which we discovered during his weekly music class. Sports are also an enjoyment as well whether it is watching football and basketball, Mike going for a run or kicking around the soccer ball with Evan we are always up for a fun game!

Evan and Walter - Pals

We both grew up with dogs as a part of our families and have a deep love for them.  Our dog Walter is our first "furry child" together and he has had a great impact on our life together.  He was our first chance at taking care of and loving someone who needs and relies on our care completely.  We believe Walter has a way of teaching us both lessons of patience and how to continually love unconditionally. 

We consider Walter a part of our family and we think he thinks of us as a part of his "dog pack"!  Our daily walks with him give all of us time to relax and enjoy being together.  He is such a great and gentle "big brother dog" to our son Evan.  Evan is completely enamored by Walter, always giving him hugs and pats on the head and the love doesn't end there as Evan's first word was "Walter"!  

Walter often has a gaggle of neighborhood kids hanging on and playing with him to which he responds with resounding tail wags and a big panting tongue.  Walter is our pal and we love him!
