We would like to start out by saying "thank you" first of all for choosing to give birth to your baby and second for considering us as parents for him or her. We realize that this has been a very difficult decision for you, which took a great deal of courage and unselfishness to make. We promise if you choose us we will love and care for your baby more than you can imagine.

Most Memorable Moment and What it Means to Be Parents

The most memorable moment….was the day our daughter was born. We will never forget it. Our birth mother wanted to meet us before the birth, which we did and it seemed we just clicked from the moment we met. We could not get over the similarities between our families, we had sisters with the same names, we picked out the same name for the baby, and it was just a true sign that there was a higher power involved. Our birthmother agreed to let us in the delivery room. It was the most miraculous moment of our lives to see our beautiful baby girl born. We were so thankful to be able to share that marvelous moment. We were both crying tears of joy! Our dreams had finally come true!! Madeline is only 3 so she doesn't really understand the concept of adoption but we always tell her about her special angel who sent her to us! We still send pictures, write and are happy to share her accomplishments.

The most important factor to being good parents is unconditional love and lots of patience, which we look forward to sharing with another child. We feel we both have had wonderful role models from our parents that have always made family a top priority and that value has definitely been passed down to us. A perfect example is that we spend every holiday with our families and even go to nieces and nephews school events to show support. We are thrilled that our daughter will have that same support system. No matter what hurdles come our way we feel we can undertake them with the love and support of family. Family is our first priority, which we feel is one of the characteristics of good parents. The strengths we have learned from our parents and family have made us who we are today. We hope to instill the same qualities to our daughter and help her to grow up to be a well-rounded, confident, loving, caring and respectful person.

Our Family Traditions

We have quite a few family traditions but our favorite week is the week leading up to Christmas. The week starts with Colleen and her niece baking x-mas cookies, watching old movies and having a slumber party. We are excited that Madeline can participate this year with us and know it will only get better sharing it with another child. At some part during the week the whole family gets together and goes ice skating, it's fun to watch the old and the young alike trying to skate. Tom has fun teaching Madeline and the nieces and nephews how to skate. We also find time to pile in the car and drive around the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights and displays, which gets us in the spirit for Christmas.

On Christmas Eve we go to mass together as a family and then have a nice dinner and open presents with Tom's family. Christmas morning is our special time for the three of us to open presents from Santa and we can hardly wait to see the joy and excitement of two on Christmas morning. Both our families love children and can not wait to have another one to love! That afternoon we go to Colleen's brothers for Christmas dinner and more presents!!! It is quite the celebration and some years we have even known to sing Christmas carols.

We enjoy celebrating all the holidays together, but Christmas is truly a special time for our family.

Our Favorite Vacation Spot

Special Time on Vacation

Our favorite vacation spot is Destin, FL. We love the white sandy beaches, the relaxing family atmosphere and crystal blue water. We went this summer with Colleen's sister and her family. We even enjoyed the long car ride as we all piled into a van and made it a family event singing songs and playing games. We had the best time watching it through Madeline's eyes and can't wait to share it with another child. Watching her run in and out with the waves, building sand castles, blowing bubbles and trying to catch them and flying kites on the beach were just some of the highlights to our trip and we look forward to chasing two down the beach. She just had the best time. We loved seeing her experience new things and seeing it through her eyes and the joy and excitement it brings her! We enjoyed our time together without the everyday routine and were able to enjoy life and spending time as a family. We are so excited to add another little one on our family vacations; we even got a bigger car in anticipation.
