We have spent years talking about plans for our future family. When we recently decided on adoption, the pieces fell together - like this is the path that was always supposed to be for our family. Now we are beginning our adoption adventure, and we are honored that you are reading our profile and considering us as your child's parents.

Qualities We Admire in Each Other
A Day on the Water, Enjoying the Sun

We have a marriage full of laughter, humor and adventure. That is the benefit of marrying your best friend.

We enjoy a lot of the same things to do - movies, camping, etc. So finding a recreational activity to enjoy together is an easy task, and one that we do often. We are both excited to incorporate a child into our lives, to share in our great life adventure.

Dan has always admired Cecelia's passion, love for others, and her zeal for life. Her compassion and desire to help others continuously challenges Dan to be a better person. He has been blessed to share 11 years of his life with her, and is excited to be able to share the rest of his life with such amazing woman.

Cecelia has always admired Dan. He is focused, committed, loving and loyal. He works hard every day to provide a secure home for his family, so that we can go and enjoy life together. He is fun, light-hearted and laid back. Cecelia loves coming home from work every day, knowing that she gets to spend another evening with the greatest person she knows. She is excited to be able to share Dan with your child, so that he/she can see what an amazing person Dan is and what a fantastic father he will be.

Our Leisure Time
The Palooza Crew

Every year, we plan a 4th of July camping trip with our group of friends. This group has been together for the past twelve years.

We have been coined the "Palooza Crew." Mostly, we earned that name because we like to organize weekend-long events that consist of bonfires, outdoor movies, painting parties, hiking, camping, BBQs and a lot of game-playing. We all love being together, and we love finding great, entertaining, family-friendly things to do together.

Elk at the Game Farm

This annual camping trip is sort of like our year's finale of events - the icing on the cake, so to speak. We take turns on who gets to plan where we go each year to camp. This year, a friend planned what turned out to be Cecelia's favorite camping trip ever. We camped within walking distance to the beach where we went clamming. We were a few short miles from an amazingly beautiful waterfall. And the nature scenes were breathtaking - pictures that should be framed and put on people's walls. We went to a "game farm" where we drove around this farm and fed animals bread (because that's all the farm allowed us to feed them.) We had buffalo, elk and llamas sticking their heads inside of the car to get to the bread. It was frighteningly awesome.

Addressing Cultural Diversity
Dan Playing Basketball with Our Friends' Kids

We are Caucasian individuals who have made the decision to adopt a child from a different race than our own. We plan to address the diversity in our family openly, comfortably and with utmost respect for the cultural heritages represented. It will be very important to explore and celebrate the differences, find commonalities and continually discover ways in which to create a family culture that incorporates all of the heritages in our household.

We live in a very diverse and impressively accepting part of the country. We will make conscious efforts to explore the rich diversity in our area with your child. And it will be a priority to help your child discover who he/she is in this world while embracing his/her cultural backgrounds.
