How Adoption Has Affected Our Lives
Hanging Out at the Ballpark

We have four incredible boys! Joe is 8, Patrick is 6, Dominic is 5, and Andrew is 3 1/2. We adopted two of them and two are biological. God is so awesome in bringing each of them to us and we can't imagine our lives any differently except to joyfully welcome a new one into our forever family. Each one of our boys is unique with special talents and gifts. They are 100% brothers and are very close with each other.

Each boy is so excited with the news that we are adopting. It is awesome to see how welcoming they are and to hear their excitement for a new brother or sister. We know they will be great big brothers to this new addition.

Stacey's Grandmother was placed in an orphanage with her sister after their mother died at an early age. Although they were never adopted, they became beautiful women both inside and out. Stacey's childhood best friend since the age of 3 was adopted. Mike and Stacey also have a nephew who was adopted as an infant and is now an adult. The majority of our friends from church and town have children who were adopted. Adoption is just so normal for us and is seen as just another way that families come together.

Adoption is a gift of life that has always been a part of our lives and relationship. We knew we wanted a large, blended family with children that were both adopted and biological. We have been blessed with that prayer being answered. We now open our hearts, family, and life for another child as we place our trust in God to lead us together.

Our Favorite Vacation Spot
Slumber Party at Our Cousins' Log Cabin

We have two favorite vacation destinations that are peaceful, yet still full of great adventures. We try to get to both of them at least once a year.

Our first one is just a few hours away from our home where we rent a cottage near the bay. We can take walks in the sand dunes, build sand castles, swim and play in the cool water, set up a tent on the beach, look for sea shells, and go fishing. When we feel like going into town, it is usually for incredible ice cream or a delicious pizza.

The next place that we love to go to is in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where Mike's older brother lives with his family. They live on a big piece of property deep in the woods. It is so tranquil there. The children go exploring with their cousins and sledding down hills in the snow. We all like taking long hikes down to the river and waterfalls and then going back to their home for a camp fire.

We enjoy these two places because it really gives our whole family a time to connect with each other without the hustle and bustle of daily life. There is just time to be with one another and share a really good time. We believe that our family bond becomes even stronger after one of these vacations.

Type of Education We Will Provide

Educating our children is definitely a priority for us. We homeschool each child so that we can model and build a solid foundation in our faith, as well as, give them the best education possible. Religion, math, and language arts are the core subjects at this time. We also include art, music, physical education, geography, history, science and Spanish throughout the school year. The children also participate in community activities with other children such as playing sports (basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, and swimming), cub scouts (Mike is a Den Leader), play groups and play dates, and taking field trips. It is very rewarding to see the children developing a true love of learning and smiles on their faces when they learn and master new concepts. We feel honored to be able to provide this type of education to all of our children.
