We are very excited to introduce our family and we thank you for your courage as you consider an adoption plan for your child. We hope that as you contemplate this decision, our profile gives you peace of mind and confidence in knowing we will provide your child a loving, safe, and happy upbringing. This is the lifestyle we have created for our son, who looks forward to being a big brother as much as we look forward to raising your child. We hope to learn as much about you as you would like to share and to learn about the kind of life you would like your child to have.

Our Leisure Time
Dinner and a Show on Our Anniversary

We lead very fun, busy lives and always seem to have great activities to occupy our leisure time. Randy loves to create new meals in the kitchen, follow his favorite sports teams, or garden; Laura loves to play piano, take a jog, or shop in the local markets. However, our favorite pastime is playing with Jack. On rainy days we spend our time up in the loft building puzzles, playing games or watching a movie, or we spend time in the kitchen baking. Our other rainy day favorite is walking through a museum. When it is nice out we love to go for a bike ride, take a walk or hang out in the backyard, gardening, painting or playing ball. Sometimes we play with Jack alone, but often we have other children in the home and we either join in their fun or we referee! We also love to take day or overnight trips in the local areas we live in and to visit beaches or ski areas we have never been to. Since we have lived all over the world, we have grown to really enjoy waking up on a Saturday, picking a town we have never been to before, and exploring it. As a couple, we take pleasure in going to Broadway shows, stage productions and concerts we really enjoy live music, dancing and acting. We have taken Jack to a few short productions and look forward to sharing more with him as he gets older.

Our Favorite Vacation Spot
In Naples, Florida

We have two favorite vacation spots one at the beach and one in the mountains. Our beach vacation spot is in Naples, Florida where the extended family owns a condominium. From there we can walk or bike to the beach where Jack spends hours building sand castles, collecting shells, and chasing waves. Randy swims in the ocean no matter how cold the water is and happily sits in the sand with Jack building castles; Laura prefers to walk along the beach with Jack as he hunts shells or to flop down in a beach chair with a good book and watch the sand castle construction. Within minutes we can walk to the shops, nice restaurants, or playgrounds, of quaint downtown Naples. We can also be in Disney World in a few hours by car and really enjoyed that prior to having our son, and even more so now. Our other favorite vacation spot is anywhere we can ski skiing is both a hobby and great exercise! We have stayed in great ski areas in Colorado, Arizona, Pennsylvania, New England, and in the European Alps. One of our first, most memorable vacations as a couple was skiing the amazing view, the beautiful snow-capped mountains, and warm cider in the ski lodges on the mountainsides . Skiing has been an important part of our vacation planning ever since. Our son's first adventure on skis was in Garmisch, Germany in the German Alps and we think he is hooked!

What Led Us to Choose Adoption
Walking Through the Gardens

Early in our relationship we had our first discussion about what kind of family we each would like to have. We were not considering marriage when we had that first discussion we were just getting to know each other. We have an uncanny amount in common, so it came as no surprise that both of us said we had considered adoption as one of the ways to build our family, based on a belief that we each had a lot of love to give and there were children in the world that needed a loving home. After we had our son in 2006 we learned that Laura could not carry another child. It almost came as a symbolic reminder to us of the discussions we had early in our relationship. We knew it was meant to be and the timing was right. We have loved parenting Jack and we have all talked about how wonderful it will be for Jack to have a younger brother or sister. We know that all three of us are ready to welcome your child into our home.
