Our leisure time is spent with lots of activity and adventures. We enjoy doing home projects together, whether it is doing yard work or gardening, remodeling or just watching TV, the time together is precious. We also enjoy many outdoor activities of boating, snow skiing, biking, and occasionally golfing. Stan is very athletic and enjoys playing hockey, Sunday morning golf with his friends, fishing, and tinkering on his acoustic guitar.
Christine enjoys volunteering for special events with various organizations in the community. She also enjoys experiencing what the city has to offer by taking her nieces to the zoos, museums, shopping, downtown landmarks and neighborhood festivals.
We also enjoy traveling. We have had the opportunity to visit family in Poland. We not only explored Poland but also took the time to explore Budapest, Vienna and Prague. It is hard to pick a favorite. With family from both sides in Colorado, it has given us the opportunity to enjoy the summer and winter there. We have also taken the time to explore Hawaii for Christine's birthday and Mexico with friends. It is always a joy to explore a new place. We can't wait to share our adventures with a child and experience the world through their eyes.
With so much family around, we are never at a loss for a good family tradition! Our family is very active and hands-on. Thanksgiving is spent first with Christine's extended family at her grandparent's home where she is the 5th generation in the home and Grandpa is still carving the turkey at 100 years old. Then it is off to Stan's sister's home for coffee and dessert. A traditional Polish Christmas Eve is spent with Stan's family where we do not eat meat until after midnight. So we enjoy a traditional Polish meal with fish and always set an extra place at the table for any unexpected guest. A traditional American Christmas Day is spent with Christine's family where there are always an abundance of gifts to open. A multicultural Easter is celebrated at our house where both Stan and Christine's families come together. This is always interesting with two languages spoken and a variety of food and always an egg hunt for the kids. Finally there is never a loss for celebrating everyone's individual birthday. From our parents to each niece and nephew, everyone gets their own party.
We are very blessed with families that enjoy spending so much time together. We have definitely grown to love our family traditions, and we look forward to sharing these family traditions with a child.
Our dog, Charley, joined our family two years ago. Stan had a dog when he was a child in Poland and a few pets when he was growing up in the U.S. Christine has never had a dog and can't believe what she has been missing. Charley has brought a lot of joy to our life and family. He is a Miniature Schnauzer and has a great personality. He loves to chase squirrels and lay around the house. He is a very mellow dog and a great companion. There is nothing like the love Charley shows when you come home from being out or at work. He is good with children of all ages and a lot of fun to have around.
