We do many different things with our leisure time. Glynis enjoys going on road trips with her Auntie Laurie. They have traveled to Key West, Mississippi, and Upper State New York. Some of their stops have included Rock Concerts, bead stores, Pleasure Island, and the Herikimer Diamond Mines. Glynis also volunteers at a local inner city elementary school with a group of twenty Kindergarten students. She helps them learn their letters and numbers along with many different weekly art projects. Glynis wasn't aware when she started how many children need that special attention! Matt likes to hunt and fish in his spare time with his coworkers. His trips have included traveling to Georgia, Maine, and Vermont. He has hunted bucks, black bears and pheasants. On the weekends, he goes fishing on Long Island Sound on his best friend's fishing boat. As a couple, we have begun camping at Lime Rock Speedway and Lake George in our travel trailer. We can't wait to share all of these fun activities with a child!
We met in high school during our Junior and Senior Years. We were in the marching band and where Matt played the trumpet and Glynis played the flute. Our first date was at a local pizza joint and the rest is history. Being from similar family backgrounds, our parents were very supportive of our relationship. We attended the Sadie Hawkins Dances and numerous Proms together. During our spare time we went to local antique car shows, dive restaurants and concerts like Garth Brooks and Brooks and Dunn in the early nineties. Funny how history repeats itself because we now own an antique convertible, have graduated to Japanese and Thai restaurants and attend concert performances like Heart, Crosby, Stills & Nash, George Strait, U2 and Lady Gaga.
Our family traditions include annual vacations and exploring new restaurants. Over the last twelve years, these trips have included Las Vegas, Italy, California Coast, all the New England states and numerous Caribbean Cruises. Our favorite trip was to Italy in 2004. This included stops in Milan, Rome, and Venice. In Rome, we visited Vatican City, the Pantheon, and the Trevi Fountain. The best place for dinner was Ristorante Strega near the Colosseum. It had a delicious pizzeria with 25 different varieties of pizza. We chose the fresh tomato and mozzarella pie with extra garlic. The dinner was completed with sweet Torrone and Mint Chip Gelato. In the future, we would like to go on a Mediterranean Cruise and trip to China.
