What it Means to Be Parents

We have always dreamed of being parents. A parent should be someone who listens and will support their child's dreams and ambitions unconditionally. Someone who will provide a good well rounded education and teach them strong moral values and beliefs. We will love and care for him/her and be there for their ups and downs in life and by our example of love and respect for each other will teach them to respect others. We both grew up in small towns but have traveled extensively, across the nation and over seas, enough to know that their opportunities are endless. We will show him/her by example how to love and be caring toward others.

Our Leisure Time

We enjoy camping. On occasion we are able to take our weekends off and drive a few hundred miles away and find a park or lake to camp near and hike. We enjoy grilling out over campfires. We also like reading the newspaper Sunday afternoon out on the deck Greg reads his tech magazines and Rhonda reads novels. We also enjoy riding our four-wheeler through the numerous trails through our 300-acre farm. We spend a lot of our free time helping our church, which fully supports our decision to adopt, along with our family and friends. Rhonda works with feeding the needy through the soup kitchen and Greg volunteers his time with maintenance and upkeep of the church. Helping out our families usually burns up he rest of our time.

Our Favorite Vacation Spot

Vacationing in Amalfi, Italy

One of our memorable and yet favorite vacation spots was touring Italy. After traveling 14 hours we decided to tour Italy on an unplanned and unscheduled vacation. We jumped in a car, we started in Milan, not knowing what to expect we traveled from town to town with no reservations staying wherever we liked. The small town of Pisa is known only for the Leaning Tower of Pisa, yet we came to find that there are so many more places and architecture to see then anyone has talked about or shown. Our next stop was Rome, the most exciting city; it was larger than we had anticipated. Driving was a challenge; we found out that traveling by foot was faster than by car and we were able to see so much more. We spent several days seeing the ruins, coliseum, fountain of Trevi, and all the beautiful and famous artwork the churches had. After many years of learning the history of Rome we got to walk through the coliseum. It was amazing what they had built thousands of years ago and it still be standing today. After days of endless roaming we decided to take a rest from site seeing. While talking to one of the locals he told us about a little town of Amalfi located on the east coast. On our way we passed quickly through Naples. After reaching Amalfi, a little town built on a jagged hillside on the coast surrounded by lemon orchards. The town was so small that they met us at the beginning of town, and took us on a one lane road to the middle of town, and dropped us off at the hotel then took the car and parked it in the middle of the orchards on the side of a mountain for lack of parking in the town. After settling in we enjoyed the relaxed secluded environment, a change from the fast paced traveling that we had experienced with most of Italy. A few days later we were on the road again we headed to Venice a small beautiful city located on the water. We were amazed to see how people traveled by taxi boat or foot through town; a town with no vehicles which made it unique and peaceful. We had one more day of travel so we decided to make it a peaceful one by traveling to a little town called Solo located on a lake nestled at the foothills of the Alps. We had a quiet dinner and a restful night enjoying the lake before heading back to Milan and catching our plane to head home.
