Our Lifestyle
Lee, Elizabeth and All the Animals

We believe in living a simple, honest life that is connected to nature. As organic farmers and cheesemakers, we raise many types of animals in a very natural setting. We also grow our own organic fruits, vegetables and honey and make our own natural soaps, lotions and some medicines. We have learned many of these skills, which our ancestors knew but that most of us have forgotten, and we hope to pass these skills onto our children.

We have many dogs, and we love to take long walks around our farm with them, finding favorite spots to picnic or just play fetch. In the center of our farm is a large pond that we really enjoy. It is stocked with catfish, and we cannot wait to teach a child to fish!

In the morning we milk the cows and visit the chickens and piglets before making cheese. The most important thing to us, since we don't have separate jobs, is enjoying almost every minute of the day together, and we look forward to a child sharing our days. We love to read, watch movies, cook out and play with the animals, and not a single day ever goes by that we don't laugh and tell each other how much in love we are. We truly do love our life!

Our Strengths as Individuals
Taking a Helicopter Ride in Hawaii

As a couple, we feel that we can do anything together because of the strengths and experiences we each have and can share with each other.

Elizabeth learned the values of love, responsibility, being dependable, having a strong work ethic, compassion, education, tradition and commitment from parents that were wonderful models. As an adult, Elizabeth showed these values as a special education teacher and now as a homesteader and farmer who cares for animals and grows healthy food. She is very smart and has a permanent smile that can light up a room and bring out the best in everyone.

Lee is one of those rare people who seems to be able to do anything. He is full of drive and confidence and sees everything as possible. This drive helped him become CEO of large companies, learn to fly airplanes, become an author of two books and create a dream farm and life for his family. People often tell him that he has inspired them to find their own happiness in life.

We each share the strengths of viewing the world with compassion, tolerance, laughter and gratitude. We make decisions well together and always seem to agree. The best strength that we have together is that we are always smiling and making each other laugh. It seems to spread to the people around us and makes each day better than the last.

What it Means to Be Parents
Posing for a Christmas Picture

There are so many reasons that we want to be parents. Obviously the first reason is love. We know how much a child will add to our lives and how much we will give to a child's life. We don't need a child to complete us as we are so compatible on our own, but we do feel love bursting at the seems and want to share that love with a child.

The type of parents that have inspired us the most are wonderful models for their children, and we can't wait to model the behavior and values that we want our child to learn. Values such as honesty, hard work, compassion, education, trustworthiness, respect, tolerance, humor and forgiveness. We want to share traditions, help our child to learn new skills and encourage any interests and passions that our child shows.

We want to celebrate our child's accomplishments and be there as support for life's disappointments. Mostly we want the child to know how much they are loved by all of us and that they have a safe and secure place to come to well after they have grown up.
