![]() We're a happy little family that can't wait to grow and find the final piece through adoption. We have a waiting place in our hearts and home for a new little person, and we long for the day when we meet them. We really appreciate you taking the time to get to know a little about us as you are making the difficult decisions about your baby's future. |

Every member of a family brings unique things to the mix and enriches the life of the whole family. Some might wonder how a Caucasian family could raise a child of a different race, and the answer is, with open eyes and hearts. Our community and circle of friends includes people of diverse ethnicities and backgrounds, and we look forward to sharing amazing friends and role models of different ethnicities with this child. We live very close to Atlanta, which will allow us to delve even more deeply into a lifestyle where there are people of all different backgrounds and cultures. We welcome the opportunity to bring a new cultural heritage into our home and explore it with this child. We will bring music, food, festivals, traditions and history into our lives so a child of a different ethnicity will grow up with a connection to that culture. We want to make these things a part of our family so that all of us can experience it together. Adopting new diversity into our family will make us all richer and wiser and happier and better.
Before we were married we talked in depth about having children. We knew that would be a defining part of our lives, and we were so excited to start a family. About a year and a half into being married we decided to have a child, and along came the amazing Adeline. Watching her grow from a tiny little bean into a walking, talking, laughing toddler was miraculous, and we knew that we wanted with all of our hearts to do it again, to expand this love.
When Adeline turned two we started trying for a second child, and were met with great heartache. Together we went through many miscarriages before discovering that we are unable to bear future healthy children together. We knew it was time to leave biology behind, and we made peace with that fact.
What we've longed for all along is another member of our family, regardless of how this child joins us. Adoption is a beautiful, astonishing thing, and we feel so very lucky to get to enter into this amazing bond. We know through deep soul searching, our relationships with other children in our lives, and all of the love we have to give another daughter or son that adoption is the right path for us.
We really enjoy being together, and are so excited to share our adventures with another child and find out what makes them smile!
Sarah is a stay-at-home Mama and homeschools Addie, and there are frequent trips to the park nearby, the Natural History and Children's Museums in Atlanta, play groups with friends, walks, gardening, baking, field trips, and learning to fill the day.
Ben has a great schedule at work and gets to come home and join in the fun at 4:30pm, where we all start preparing dinner together and eat at the big table as a family. We love to talk, tell silly stories, try new recipes, reconnect, and just be together.
On the weekends and vacations we like to work on the house and yard, go swimming at the YMCA, take day trips to the Mountains or drive into Atlanta to visit museums. Our town has an amazing arts and music scene and every weekend there are music shows, movies, and festivals, always something to do.
Every summer we travel with Ben's Mom, Dad, sister, and brother-in-law to the beach to stay for a week. We go to St. Augustine, Tybee Island, or sometimes Destin. We have such a great time playing in the ocean, building sand castles, eating seafood, and watching Addie delight in the whole thing. We can't wait to have another little one to share the beach with!
This past summer we went to Washington D.C. for the first time as a family. Ben loved sharing his favorite museum - the Air and Space - with Addie for the first time. We plan to try to go every other year.
We also really love to have big potlucks and campouts with all of our friends at least once a month. It's such a great time with all of the kids running around, everyone laughing and talking together.
When we aren't together we also have quite a few hobbies of our own. Sarah is a knitter and spinner, and makes cozy sweaters, hats, scarves, and socks for the whole family, and is learning to quilt. Ben loves tabletop games, reading, and making toys for Addie.
