Before we ever even married, we decided that when the time felt right for us to have children, we would do so through adoption. We knew that we could provide a warm and loving home to a child that needed one, and we were certain that it was the right path for us. We adopted our son, Sam, from Ethiopia in 2010 and he has truly blessed us. We are so excited to grow our family again and to provide a nurturing home. This child will have loving parents and a brother with whom they can grow and play and that will truly understand adoption.
Sam is almost two years old and is absolutely the light and laughter in our lives. Sam has taught us so much about ourselves, how to laugh, and most importantly, how to truly love. When we adopted Sam, he was eight months old. He has completely transformed our lives and is the reason we know we want to grow our family again.
Sam loves to read. He will sit with you and be read to for hours! He loves being outdoors and hiking. He is such a playful boy and we can't wait to see him grow as a big brother!
We love to travel. We love to travel locally and love to explore brand new places abroad. On weekends, we load up the car with backpacks, a good stroller, lunch, and plenty of snacks and check out the state parks, hiking trails, or the beach a few hours from our house.
We love traveling to new places too. Our favorite spots (so far!) are Alaska, Paris, and Ethiopia. We visited Alaska a few years ago with Leah's family and fell in love with the hiking, whale-watching, and kayaking in the Inside Passage. We fell in love with the architecture, food, and beauty of Paris and can't wait to bring our children there to explore! Our son was born in Africa and we are amazed by the beauty and people of Ethiopia. We will be returning there every few years. We can't wait to show the child our favorite place to explore!
Leah loves that Bobby is such a gentle, kind, logical person. He is such a loving and playful father and Leah has loved watching him with their son. Bobby is someone that his friends and family go to for advice and direction; he is someone that can objectively view a problem and helping brainstorm solutions. Leah most admires that he is such a generous man and is so giving of his time and love.
Bobby loves how Leah is so loving and considerate. She is caring of others and is always willing to lend a hand. Bobby also admires how she will put her family above herself. Leah is practical and logical and is often the voice of reason, ready to jump in if needed to help resolve a difficult situation or help with a tough decision. Bobby loves watching Leah grow as a mother and watching how much she cherishes even the little things like rocking their son to sleep every night.
