We have so much to offer a child - tons of love, patience, time and energy. We were both raised in loving homes with great morals and we would love the chance to share all of that and more with a child.

Our Lifestyle

Most of our activities are family and child oriented even though we don't have any children (yet!). Most weekends involve taking our dogs out in our boat or day trips to Disney World or Universal Studios with family and friends. We often have our nieces and nephew over for the weekend. We take them out in the boat, play miniature golf, go to the park, bake cookies, do crafts or just relax and play video or board games. For longer vacations, we love to go on cruises or trips to Pennsylvania and South Carolina to visit family. We just love spending time together. We both enjoy traveling and we are looking forward to introducing a child to many different places and cultures. We have many interests but no matter what we do, the thing we do the most is laugh! We find humor in most everything and definitely try not to take ourselves too seriously. We are best friends, going down all paths in our lives as a team, supporting and encouraging each other as we go along. We are calm, patient, and easy going people. We like our home life to be the same way. We don't like a lot of bickering and arguing, and don't believe in holding a grudge. We understand that problems arise in life, but that there is always a solution. There hasn't been an obstacle we haven't been able to overcome.

A Few Words from Our Support Family

All of our family and friends are thrilled about us adopting a child and support us completely! Many of our friends and family wrote letters that they were hoping to share with you. We wish we could share them all with you in this profile. Here are some of their words:

Dawn's parents, "As parents we may be a little bias, but we know Dawn and Rob will make wonderful parents. We see how much they enjoy spending time with their nieces and nephew. The kids can't wait to spend time with their Auntie Dawn and Uncle Robbie."

Rob's parents, "They have always wanted to have children and we are extremely excited that they have made the decision to adopt a child. We have always dreamed of being grandparents but have tried not to influence them knowing that this decision was totally up to them. We would be so happy to have a grandchild to love and nurture."

Dawn's brother and sister-in-law, "Dawn and Robbie always have time for their niece and nephew. Their interaction with our children is so loving, caring and fun…..thank you for giving couples like Dawn and Robbie the opportunity to complete the circle of love, caring and family."

Rob's sister and brother-in-law, "We would love to see the addition of a niece or nephew to our family. We believe that Rob and Dawn would be very special parents and a blessing to any child."

If you choose us, we would love to share all of our family and friends' letters with you!

Our Pets Are Important in Our Lives

Our Dogs Penny and Buster

Our family also consists of two Miniature Dachshunds named Penny and Buster. They are very gentle animals and a big part of our family life. They love children and love to play and be petted. Penny gets so excited when kids come over that she does a little dance. They love to go out in the boat with us. We have a "secret" sandbar that we go to often where the dogs can run and play in the sand. They also love to go for walks at sundown. We can't wait to take turns pushing the baby stroller and walking the dogs.

Miniature Dachshunds are known to have back problems. Our little Buster is one of the many Dachshunds that became paralyzed due to a genetic disorder. He came out of surgery still unable to use his legs but in no pain and as happy as ever. We have been doing therapy with him to build his leg muscles. We take turns caring for Buster and playing with Penny to make sure they get equal attention. It's been 5 months now and he is able to take a few steps at a time! His surgeon agrees he is making wonderful progress and it's very possible he could be walking by Christmas! Dealing with his disability has only reinforced our desire to be parents. We feel we have been tested and we are confident we can deal with any problems that come our way.
