What We Want to Give a Child
In addition to our undying love and devotion to his or her care and well being, we also want to guide your child in the right directions so that he or she grows into a strong, competent adult. Suzy will be a stay-at-home mom and able to devote every day to him or her. Education was important in both of our families growing up and our parents always made higher education available to us but more importantly we knew that no matter what we became as long as we loved what we were doing it was o.k. We'll give your child every opportunity to discover their interests and talents and allow them the freedom to build on them. We love sports so if your child likes athletics we'll be right there on the sidelines cheering them on but if it were something different; art, astrology or auto mechanics, we'll make sure they have all the tools they need to foster those interests and always be their biggest fan. We love to travel so your child would be able to experience all the adventures involved with that. We have been fortunate to have traveled to over half of the states in the U.S. as well as Canada and Mexico and will share these travels with your child and teach them about people of all cultures. Above all, we would be supportive and at the same time challenging your child to be a self confident and successful person.
What We Plan to Tell Your Child About Their Adoption
We agree that the word 'adoption' will always be a positive word in our lives. We plan to talk to your child from the very beginning about their adoption so he or she will always know how special our family is. We have already purchased many children's books that touch on this subject so that they can be a stepping stone in allowing your child to ask questions and feel comfortable. We plan to celebrate their birthday every year as an extra special event, not just the day he or she was born but the day we were given the very special gift of being a family. We will teach your child that being adopted means having two families that love them. One who gave them life and a chance at a brighter future and a second who helps them build that life. We will tell them of the huge amount of love and sacrifice it took their birthparents to find them the
loving home and family they have. We will always be by your child's side as a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on and an echo to all of their laughter.
Our Pets Are Important to Us
Kitty Posing for a Picture
We have two cats. Kitty we got as a kitten 14 years ago and he is a fat, furry cat who pays most of his attention to the pursuit of sleep and more sleep. His favorite spot at home is on Suzy's pillow in bed. Stinky was a rescued cat from our vet. She is even
fatter than Kitty, loves attention and demands it from everyone who comes to our home. We have heard that she is often found staring at our overnight guests when they wake in the morning, waiting for affection and praise. They are special little creatures and have filled a large void in our lives of the child we've been waiting for so many years. We have always played with them in rambunctious ways so they would be used to all the pulling and tugging a little kid would give them and because of this, they are very tolerant, passive, and love to be man-handled.
