What We’ll Tell Our Child About Their Adoption

We will tell the child about their adoption at an age-appropriate stage, probably when they start asking about where babies come from. We will tell them their story beginning with how excited we felt the day we learned of them and the special gift their birth parents gave us. We will let your child know how special they are because we chose them and that you, their birth parents, chose us to take good care of them. We will make sure your child will know they are loved by both families (birth and adopted) and we want your child to feel comfortable asking questions about you and their adoption.

Education We Will Provide

We both were able to go to college and we know the value of a good education. We plan on reading many books to your child to explore their interests. We will encourage your child to dream and discover what type of career they might like to have and will support them in all their endeavors. We will also encourage participation in activities such as sports, music, gymnastics, and dance, as we believe this will build confidence and help the child to develop good social skills.

Julie has a Master's degree in French and believes that the world opens up new opportunities and viewpoints to you when you can communicate with people from other places and cultures. Therefore, foreign language studies and travel will also be a part of your child's education.

Our Lifestyle

At Julie’s Family Reunion

We actually are living an old-fashioned lifestyle, like the ones we had when we were growing up. We are basically a one-income family; Joe works and Julie just works part-time and is a housewife.

We work hard to save our money for the future, but we aren’t misers, either. We believe in living simply, but comfortably. We aren’t materialistic; we don’t rush out to buy the latest, newest gadgets to hit the stores, but we do buy what we need to be comfortable and enjoy life. We know that things don’t make people happy, at least not in the long term.

Instead of buying lots of stuff, we prefer to spend our money on spending time together, going out enjoying each other’s company. We would rather take a nice vacation together every year than get a new car. What matters most to us are each other, our families, and our friends.
