Together, our most important dream, has been to have a big family. Since the adoption of our sons, Aidan and Erik, this dream has only become stronger. We have so much more love in our hearts to give to another child. Adoption has been a wonderful, positive experience for us and we look forward to having the opportunity to share our lives with your child.

Our Adoption Experience
Our sons, Aidan and Erik, are adopted. We have had the most positive experience with adoption. With our first son, we filled out all the paperwork as a semi - open adoption. By the time Aidan was born, we felt so close to Aidan's birthmother that we gave all our information to each other. Our experience with Erik's birthparents was equally as wonderful. All of us, including Aidan, had the opportunity to meet both Erik's birthparents which, we feel, will be a wonderful memory to share with Erik when he is older. We send Christmas and birthday cards with pictures and updates to both Erik and Aidan's
birthparents. It is nice to know we can contact one another and that their birthparents feel comfortable doing the same. All of us feel that this is a wonderful advantage for the children. We would be willing to have this type of relationship with you but only if this appeals to you.
What it Means to Be Parents
Being a parent has been the most challenging, yet rewarding, job we have done. Children learn by example so we have always tried to put our best foot forward. We have had the past five years to learn so much about parenting and your child would have the benefit of our experience. We now understand little things, like stopping the tears with someone fun like boo boo bear. We have also discovered that our biggest strength has been the stability of our relationship. We have had the time to focus on us and now we can totally immerse ourselves in loving, educating and having fun with our children. Both Aidan and Erik seem to innately understand this because we are all very affectionate towards each other. They are very sensitive and loving which, we believe, they learned through example.
We have had experience with adoption as well. We have put together books for both Erik and Aidan "Our Trip to Where You Were Born". We have read them as a family and answered some tough questions already from Aidan. This experience will help us be better parents for your child.
Our Family Traditions
The Boys in the Pumpkin Patch
Before having children, we had time to really think about what traditions each of us had growing up and we have created our own "best of" traditions. Every fall we ride to the local farm to go on a hayride and pick out pumpkins. We bring home mums, vegetables and fruit. Every year, we bake an apple pie to celebrate the start of fall. Christmas is a wonderful holiday for us as well. Abigail and the boys make tons of cookies and we leave two out for Santa along with a glass of milk and carrots for the reindeer. All of our family comes to have a big festive Christmas dinner on Christmas day. Children are running everywhere. It is great fun.
