We never really thought of ourselves as "choosing" adoption to start our family but more like adoption has chosen us. After struggling with endometriosis, Juli had a hysterectomy several years ago, so from the beginning of our relationship we knew that adoption would be the way we would create the family we so long for. We would be forever grateful if you were to give us the opportunity to make our "couple" into a family.

What We’ll Tell Your Child About Their Adoption

We will introduce the subject of adoption early in your child’s life. We plan on using children’s books about adoption early on so your child will feel comfortable talking about the way our family is formed. Our goal as adoptive parents is to show our love and support by giving answers to their questions openly and honestly and to help them understand what a difficult and loving sacrifice that you have made for them. We will always portray you in a positive manner and express to your child that your decision was heart felt and done out of love with their best interest in mind. We want your child to grow up with a certainty of being loved by two special sets of parents that share a common goal to provide the best possible home and future. We will gladly include pictures and letters that you provide in our family albums as you will always be a part of their life and we want you to feel welcome to share anything you would like them to know.

Our Lifestyle and Family Traditions

We are an easy-going couple that enjoys spending time together and take every opportunity to live life to the fullest. Our family is an important priority in our lives and we spend as much time with them as possible. We like to spend our evenings together enjoying a home-cooked dinner and watching TV or going out on "Date Night" for dinner and a movie. We love that we are able to enjoy both city and country life. The city has great restaurants and many shops that are fun to visit and we also enjoy spending much of our time at the family farm. The farm is a very peaceful place to take a break with two horses, a stocked fish pond and lots of woods to go exploring in. Juli’s parents own a large travel trailer and a boat and take several camping / fishing trips a year enjoying the peaceful outdoors. Your child will be able to spend much time with both sets of Grandparents doing fun things at the farm with the horses, fishing, and camping . We take yearly vacations and try to plan a new destination each time but our favorite spot will always be Disney World. We are very committed to each other, and hope that other people can experience the love that we have for one another.

Our family loves spending time together celebrating the holidays. Christmas is our favorite time of the year with all the decorating and festivities that comes along with the season. Christmas is always a big event with both our families and always involves lots of festive foods, opening gifts, and piling into the car with a thermos of hot chocolate looking at all the holiday lights. Every summer we travel to the lake for a cousins' reunion with Juli's family for a weekend of food, fun and a little friendly competition. Every 4th of July we spend at the farm having a cookout with family & friends, playing in a golf outing that Ron's Dad organizes and watching the fireworks at the town park. Carving pumpkins and lots of candy are the center of our Halloween festivities and we look forward to taking a little one trick or treating and to the Halloween parade. Birthdays are always a fun celebration with the guest of honor’s favorite foods and a cake of their choice.

Pets Are Important in Our Lives

Daphne Playing in the Water, Ginger Smiling and Buddy at Christmas

As animal lovers, we both enjoy spending time with our pets - we have two dogs (Buddy & Ginger) and three cats (Baxter, Forrest, & Daphne). Amazingly, they all get along very well. Our animals were rescued from shelters or found as strays and are very gentle especially with children. Our pets live inside the home with us as part of the family, and have their own area set up inside Ron's office. The dogs are great with children, in fact, not a week goes by that we don't get a phone call from our 5 year old neighbor Allie asking to play with Buddy and Ginger. It is very important to us that we raise children in a loving home that has pets, as growing up with pets teaches valuable lessons in responsibility and in unconditional love and trust. We spend a lot of time keeping our pets healthy and groomed, and they are very well-trained. Most weekends, we take the dogs to the farm so that they can have fun running in the fields and swimming in the pond. We love our pets dearly, knowing that no matter how our day went or how bad we are feeling, our pets are always ready to cheer us up.
