We cannot wait to have a baby! There are just so many things that we are looking forward to since we have so much love and time to devote to a child! We will love being able to do all of the things that we see other parents doing with their children, such as going to the beach, carnivals, movies, Chucky Cheese, birthday parties, toy shopping, the circus, and the zoo. We are also excited about buying so many adorable outfits for the child and beautiful items for his/her bedroom so that s/he can see how special s/he is to both of us. As the child grows, it will be so much fun to attend many different school activities, such as plays, concerts, sports events and/or dance recitals, back-to-school nights, Halloween parades, and class parties. We will enjoy volunteering at our child's school so that s/he will know that we care about what is happening there on a daily basis. We are also very excited to have photo albums to create and artwork to frame and hang proudly on the wall and all kinds of schoolwork to display and share. There are just so many things that we can't enjoy as much without a child, and we know that we are going to find so much fulfillment having a little one to care for as s/he matures.

We are a unique couple for a variety of reasons. There is a significant age difference between us, and that is just the beginning of our uniqueness. Since Victor has raised three daughters, he is so excited about sharing his experience with Gillian, who has never had a child. He can't wait to care for an infant again because he feels that all of the special care at that stage is his specialty, but he also misses the times spent with his daughters when they were younger and involved in sports and dance classes. Victor is eager to do all of these things again and to share the experience with Gillian who will be doing everything for the first time.We believe that adoption is the most precious gift that we can give to one another. We also feel that human life is very sacred, and we are dedicated to supporting a parent's right to choose a better life for a child through adoption. One last thing that makes us unique is the fact that as a teacher, Victor has the option of taking advantage of retiring on a substantial pension at a relatively early age. We plan for him to do this within the next three years, and at that point he will be a stay-at-home dad on a full-time basis while Gillian continues to run her business with its flexible work schedule. This is something that very few couples are able to say!

Our Dogs at Christmas

Our three dogs Mikey, Benji, and Reggie are truly a part of our family and therefore are a very important part of our lives. We do all that we can to make sure that they are well cared for and secure, and we take that responsibility very seriously. Mikey and Benji have both had life-threatening health emergencies during the past two years, and we made sure that they received the most appropriate care in spite of the great financial and emotional hardship it caused. For us, it was a relatively small price to pay for all of the loyalty and companionship they give us every day of their lives. All three dogs were adopted from animal rescues, and that is something that we are also very proud of. So many wonderful dogs are euthanized every day, and we hate to think of that happening. Because we have provided a better life for our dogs, it is almost as if they love and appreciate us all the more. They are full of love and affection and bring us more happiness than we could have ever expected, especially Victor who had never had pets of any kind until the year after we married. We can only imagine how wonderful it will be to have our beloved dogs and the added blessing of a child in our lives!
