What it Means to Be Parents & What Our Strengths Would Be

Each child is a gift from God: born to us or adopted. We receive our children to raise them and provide the safe harbor for them until they grow up to live their own life. Then we need to release them, but always be there for them. We don't own our children but look at them as individuals with their own personality, spirit and feelings. We would like the child with whom God entrusts us to become a happy and self-confident adult. How can we do that? Unconditional love, trust and sincerity are the major keystones of our relationships. Besides appropriate education, we attribute great importance to the child's emotional and social development. Empathy and respect for other people, animals and our environment are values that we want to pass on. And what seems to be so evident but lacking in our modern society: time. We spend a lot of time with our son, chatting, playing or doing any kind of activity together. We also know how important it is for him to receive enough attention, love and patience. We are raising our son according to these principles and we are certain to follow these for our next child.

Our Passions

We are both passionate about hiking and walking in nature. We live and work in a city that we love but when the weekend comes, hiking boots go in the car, sandwiches and water bottles in the backpacks and we are off to the mountains. Chances are that we are not alone, as many of our friends know that if they join us they will have a good time. Very likely we will see a beautiful glacier, pick some tasty berries, climb a few exciting rocks, watch a herd of mountain goats. We also like to camp: sleeping in a tent, cooking in a kettle for 20 persons and singing together with friends around the fire ... the children love it. We also love photography and take lots of pictures. Landscape shots are all over the walls of our apartment and we make photo collages with different themes. All our family love playing board games. We play together with our son in the evenings and with other families on rainy weekends. Activity, Monopoly and Uno are some of our favorites.

What Makes Us Special

Hike to the Glacier Mer de Glace

We are very interested in different peoples' cultures and this has greatly affected our family's life. We have lived in four countries on two continents and have used four different languages at different times. Even today all the three of us speak at least two languages in the course of the day. We grew up in Hungary, a small Central-European country, which was the homeland of numerous famous artists and scientists in the world. We married and moved to America with our stuff packed in 4 suitcases. Tamas studied in Boston; we had little money at that time but we were very happy to live together on our own and to discover new worlds. We lived in Massachusetts for three years, where Bence was born, and toured the East and West Coasts. After a year in Germany we came to Switzerland: we have been exposed to and learned from many different cultures, have worked and made friends with lots of people of different origins.

We have finally settled in Geneva and we thoroughly enjoy it. We have common goals in our lives, among which the most important is raising children. We have shared the happiest and the most difficult moments of life which have given great strength to our relationship.
