We will celebrate the child's "adoption day" as well as celebrating his/her birth. We will create a book to tell the child's adoption story so he/she will understand where he/she came from and know about you. We will share photos, letters and emails from you with the child if you desire. We will begin talking about this from the beginning in a suitable way. The child will understand that they are loved by two sets of parents and we will make sure he/she knows how loved and wanted they are. We will do everything from our side so that the child will feel positive about their adoption story. The child will know that his/her birth parents went through very tough times and were very selfless by choosing adoption. The child will know that their birth parents have our full respect.

We think the child should know a lot about his/her heritage. We will support the child in finding its roots. We will show the child its home country, too. As the US culture is very well known to us through our travels, we already implemented some US culture into our home and lifestyle which will be visible to the child every single day.

Due to the fact that this child will grow up in a trans-racial environment we have prepared ourselves for this. We have contact every single day with people of different races and colors. We fully respect different races and cultures. We have read different literature to help us understand how to cope with trans-racial situations in daily life. In our opinion all humans are equal regardless of race, religion or culture.

Our Lovely Dog Speedy

We have many interests and spend most of our spare time together as a family. We like to travel all over the world; it started with our honeymoon at the beaches of California, up to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Dubai etc. We've also seen a lot of beaches and cities in Germany and Europe. We like to plan our trips on our own, deciding spontaneously what to see or to do. We have collected a lot of unforgettable impressions about the world through our travels.

In winter time we go skiing in the Swiss Alps and stay at Alex's dad's leisure residence, amidst the impressive scenery of the mountains which is also very beautiful to look at in the summer time where we go for hiking. The summer time in our city is a good season where we like shopping downtown and having a coffee in the pedestrian area, barbecuing with friends, swimming, riding bicycles and visiting friends. Summer is also the time when Alex does a lot of RC race boating with his friends. During his excursions Claudia likes reading a book (e.g. romance novels and thrillers) and talking to friends on the phone or cooking and baking for ourselves, family and friends (especially homemade gingerbread during the Christmas season).

Speedy, our 7-year old dog has a significant role. He makes sure that we spend a lot of time outside and with his well tempered character, he is the attraction for all children (especially for our niece, she loves him so much and he does also).

We hope to continue to do all of these things and even more once we have children.
