Stephanie’s Adoption Story

I (Stephanie) am also adopted and can relate. My brother and I were both adopted by two loving parents. My parents had waited a few years for my brother and a few more for myself. As soon as my brother Tony and I were old enough to understand (around age 4-5) our parents explained how special we really were. Mom and Dad went on to tell us how lucky we were that not only they chose us, but that we had birth parents who loved us so much they wanted us to belong to such a loving and ready family. They also never discouraged us from locating our birth parents when we were adults. Unfortunately this was something that the birth parents were not open to, but my brother and I are very grateful that our birth mothers made the sacrifice to let us have such amazing lives.

Community Involvement

Community involvement is a big part of our lives. For the last 8 years we have volunteered and organized many events to help those in need. Not to mention our daughter Emily was "Student of the Month" in 2007 at her middle school due to her charity efforts, including donating her babysitting money to St. Judes each Christmas, volunteering at a soup kitchen during Lent and participating in many walk and runs for Breast Cancer, Multiple sclerosis and Aids. I (Stephanie) have been coordinating charity events for many years, such as Kickball for Domestic Abuse, Flag Football for Cancer, Adopt a Family at Christmas, Supporting the Troops and a team every year for the Aids Walk in Chicago. Helping those less fortunate and raising money for a great cause is part of who we are daily.

Fun Times Together

Our Family in California

Our family loves to have fun together whether it is for an entire week or for a long weekend. Our favorite fun spots are our family cottages. Both sides of the family have cottages up-north apprx 1-2 hours away from our house. We love to be in the water in any capacity - either Jet-Skiing, swimming out to the stationary raft with all the neighbor kids, riding the pontoon boat, or taking our daughter on her favorite pastime - water skiing. We simply love to be in the water and would rather be doing nothing else than hanging out at the lake together.

Emily is our beautiful 14 year old daughter. She does extremely well academically and is a social butterfly. One memory that comes to mind is our trip to Disneyland in California a couple of years ago. We of course spent an amazing day at Disneyland and California Adventure. But the highlight of our trip was on our 3rd day; we rented a Mustang convertible and drove up the coast. I (Stephanie) used to live in San Diego after college and love the coast; I wanted to share this with Dan and Emily. We made many stops along the way, special spots to overlook the ocean, touring the Queen Mary -taking in a little of our history, and watching the sunset on Venice Beach while eating hotdogs.
