What it Means to Be Parents and Our Strengths

Being parents is one of the most important roles there is. It is a lifetime commitment! We truly enjoy being parents and will provide a loving, secure, and laughter filled home where a child can prepare for life. Our goal is to help our children learn to be responsible, caring, honest and confident, and encourage them to discover their talents and pursue their dreams. We will give nurturing, guidance, protection and praise. Parents encourage a child in their strengths and guide them in coping with weaknesses or difficulties. We will teach our children about right and wrong, encouraging strong values and good judgment. We will strive to be parents whose children come to them with both successes and problems and we will be understanding and supportive.

One strength we have as parents is that Christal is a stay at home mom. This is such a blessing as we always know this child will be getting individual attention and love and we also know that we will be there for every smile and tear, every milestone and new accomplishment. Because we believe parenting is our most important responsibility, we are intentional in looking for opportunities to help our child(ren) become independent, loving, and able to solve problems. We believe that we as parents need to be actively involved in our children's lives.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Kevin is a great dad. I always admire how much love he has for our daughter and how much he enjoys playing with her. He has a good sense of humor and loves to joke around. When he tells stories of things that have happened to him, he gets everyone in the room laughing! He is a loving, supportive husband and is committed to our marriage and family. Kevin is the kind of person who has a positive perspective and always remains calm even in difficult situations. He values family, hard work, and being responsible.

Christal is, in every sense of the word, my best friend. She is loving, warm, honest, caring, hardworking, compassionate, fun, trustworthy and a woman of God. She is a wonderful mom and very committed to our family. Except for our occasional night out on a date or as a family, Christal provides healthy home cooked meals that we sit and eat together as a family, which is a treasured part of our family life. I love the fact that she enjoys the simple things in life and is not materialistic. I often think that we balance each other perfectly with our strengths and personalities.

Our Daughter

Amanda and Our Cat Baylee
Amanda is our precious 6 year old little girl who loves animals. Her favorite animal is the cheetah and she loves to learn all she can about any animal. Of course she also loves our cat Baylee and always wants to play and cuddle with her! She regularly plans birthday parties for her different stuffed animals and we make cake and open presents too! Amanda is loving, kind, helpful, bright and active. She loves books and we read stories to her every night before bed. Amanda has a great sense of humor and the kind of laugh that makes you start laughing too. Her compassion for others is evident whenever we hear the siren of an emergency vehicle; she wants to pray that everyone will be alright. Amanda is very excited to become a big sister and is already making plans for the new baby!
