Discussing Adoption with Your Child
We will answer any question about the adoption your child may have as soon as he or she is old enough to understand. We will explain how much you love him/her and that this was the best decision you made to give your child the best future possible. At the same time, this was the hardest decision of your life and we would like this child to know that. We would like that your child knows as much about you and where he or she came from as possible. We will also explain that he or she is very lucky to have two sets of parents that love him or her. We both can't wait to be parents and are excited about having the opportunity to parent this precious child.
Travel
Both of us love to travel and we use every opportunity we have to do so, regardless if it is a short hiking trip or 3 week vacation to Europe. We love it all, from visiting San Francisco, boogie boarding in San Diego (we go twice a year), sightseeing in Los Angeles, walking in New York City Central Park, visiting friend in Boston, swimming in Miami, or visiting Grand Canyon. Every year, we make a trip to Europe. Our favorite place to visit in Europe is Croatia, an incredibly beautiful and relatively unknown Mediterranean country next to Italy with over thousand islands, excellent cuisine and warm people. Once a year, we go to Croatia for 2-3 weeks. Since we are both from Croatia, we love going there for vacation. We are still very close to many of our school friends and our extended family. They can't wait to see us and spend time with us. We always stay with our parents and often go on small trips to one of the 1,185 Islands which Croatia is famous for. Every island has its own unique history and attributes. Croatia also has 8 national parks and 10 nature parks from which the biggest is National Park Plitvice with massive waterfalls, crystal clear lakes and nature at its finest. We also enjoy delightful gourmet food in many restaurants we go to. Seafood is especially popular: from crab-legs, calamari or grilled sea bass. We also love other mediterranean countries and their romantic settings like Venice, Florence, and Rome in Italy or the Greek Islands of Santorini or Mykonos.
We enjoy travel and seeing the world is refreshing, educational and fulfilling to us. We believe that traveling opens our mind to possibilities, new languages, new types of food and new cultures. Whenever we visit a new place, we come back to the United States recharged, rejuvenated and full of energy. We would love for your child to join us on our journeys and share our experiences and memories with us.
Hobbies and Interests
Playing in the Grass
We are a very active young couple and both enjoy pets. We currently have a beautiful yellow and white kitten called Maxi. He gives us a lot of joy and often makes us laugh. Tanya likes cooking and spending time in her garden while Sonny enjoys fixing things around the house, reading, and watching sports. We both like outdoors and playing sports: hiking, swimming, bowling, playing tennis, jogging and boogie boarding. We also enjoy listening music, going to the concerts and to the movies. We both love to travel regardless if it is a daily hiking trip, camping, or a trip overseas. Each summer we visit our family in Croatia. We also go to the beach every year at least once for boogie boarding and swimming. Both of us love people and like to socialize. We are lucky to have good friends around the country who we often visit and who visit us.
Some of our friends are just having babies or are planning to have them in the near future. We can't wait until the moment when we can all enjoy time with our kids playing together. We can't wait to have a child to take to Disneyland, Sea World and other exciting places. Your child will enjoy all the opportunities and happy life we can and will provide. We have so much love to give to your child that she/he will have the most loving and caring childhood you can imagine. We are both Catholics and are active in our church.
