Both of us have been touched personally by adoption. Jill's grandparents adopted her father and her uncle from separate families after they were unable to have children on their own. Jill's Nana has always said that there had been something missing in their lives and adoption was the best decision she and Pop-Pop ever made. Stephen also has two cousins and a life-long friend who was adopted. After experiencing infertility, adoption just felt like a natural choice for us to become parents. This decision was made even easier by all of the positive influences in our lives due to adoption. We are very excited and grateful for the opportunity to become parents.

This is a subject that is very close to our hearts since we have dreamed of a child in our lives since before we were married. We look forward to swimming lessons at the YMCA, camping in the mountains, learning to ride a bike and school activities. We are also looking forward to baking cookies, coloring at the kitchen table, trips to grandma's house and play dates with friends. Stephen is ready to give golf lessons and Jill is anxious to read bedtime stories. There is so much we want to experience and share. We look forward to the day when our dreams come true…

We love to be outside! Luckily we live in Florida where the weather is good all year round. We live close to the beach, several state parks, and a large metropolitan area that has many golf courses. On the weekends we enjoy getting together with family and friends for barbequing in the back yard. It's also nice that Jill's mom has a pool, so whenever it gets too hot we go to her house for a dip. Since we have moved out of the city we've found a new hobby, riding ATV's. On most weekends we pack a lunch and head for the trails!

Stephen enjoys building and racing go-karts. He and his karting friends participate in local races and occasionally travel for national events. He also loves golfing, fishing, NASCAR and playing video games with the guys.

Jill loves gardening and working in the yard. She is planning our first vegetable garden for next spring now that we have enough space for it. On rainy days, Jill enjoys curling up with a book or a good movie. She also likes to shop with Stephen's mom and they always end their day out with a treat from the local coffee shop. Jill's girlfriends are also important to her so time spent with them and their children is very special. It's fun being included in their families' lives and being called "Aunt Jill" by lots of them.

Black & Jack

About a year ago Stephen's mom called us to say that she had found a stray kitten and thought we would be great parents. We agreed and that is how Jack came into our lives. For such a tiny little guy he had tons of energy! We decided that he needed a buddy so we took in another stray kitten, Black. Once Jack taught him who was boss, they've been best friends ever since. Black wakes Jill up every morning by jumping off the headboard on to her pillow- there's no going back to sleep after that! While she's getting ready for work, each of the cats lie in our bathroom sinks and keep her company while she puts on her make-up. Black is especially unique because he likes to be brushed and blow-dried each morning while Jill is drying her own hair. We thought cats where supposed to be low maintenance?
