We want you to know that we are two people that take life and other people’s feelings very seriously. If you should choose adoption and decide to choose us as the adoptive parents we will send letters and pictures twice a year, as long as this is what you want. We will make sure that your child knows that your decision was one of love. People often tell us that there is something special about us as a couple. When people visit our home they often say that it is so welcoming and we are so nice to them that they feel like they are in their own home. This is one of the strengths that we have as couple. It seems that we have the ability to positively touch the lives of those we come in contact with. We both have a very friendly personality and we love to laugh.

We love being together as a couple and doing things together, including our house work, and yard work. We don't mind learning the others hobby so that we can do them together. We have two mottos "It's you and me against the world" and the other is "We are one" (our wedding theme was…. And the Two Shall Become One). Recently a cousin told Juanda some personal information and asked that Juanda wait to tell Lorenzo. Ten minutes after the cousin hung up the telephone he called back. He explained that after hanging up he remembered that, "You Are One”. We were touched that our cousin recognized our loyalty to each other, and was willing to honor it.

We love people, we love interacting with people and we love helping people. Family is very important to us and we make sure that we set aside time to attend family events. We also set aside time to socialize with individual family and friends. We like to be an encouragement to others, especially those that are discouraged about their circumstances, we like to help them to see the positives in life, and all that they have to offer.

We have many hobbies that we enjoy together: distance walking, balloon decorating, cake decorating, and baking and decorating gingerbread houses. Most of the above started out as Juanda's hobbies, but over time Lorenzo has joined in and now they are hobbies that he also enjoys.

We love to walk on our own for exercise and we also like to participate in charity walks. The most we have walked in one day was 26.2 miles; it took us a little more than 6 ½ hours. Lorenzo loves to go deep sea fishing, and has recently taken up pier fishing. Juanda loves to take pictures and scrapbook the many pictures she has taken.

On Vacation at Disney World

We like to buy games that everyone from the ages of 5-6 years old to adult can participate in. It is fun watching the kids playing games with the adults. We always have age appropriate games, and coloring books, for the toddlers. During the summer Juanda and her Mother love to teach the girls how to jump double Dutch rope. It is a lot of fun teaching them.

Lorenzo is a die hard sports fan. His favorite sports to watch are football, basketball, baseball, hockey and golf. His favorite sport to play is baseball, which he still plays. It's been a tradition at Juanda's family reunion to have a fun game of softball, which we usually organize. Everyone that wants to play can play, the kids, the adults, really good players and really bad players. You never have all the good players on one team and all of the bad players on another. The teams are mixed up really well and everyone always has a really nice time. We look forward to teaching a child the many games that we know.

During the Christmas holiday Juanda loves to make homemade cookies. She also makes homemade gingerbread houses from scratch, which she learned from her mother. Once she makes them, Lorenzo helps to put them together and to decorate them with different types of hard candy, chocolate candy bars, and peanuts.The kids in the family love to be a part of decorating the gingerbread houses, which has become a family tradition.
