Sebastian’s Story
On April 17, 2004 we were the proud parents of our first child Sebastian. He was born at 30 weeks and weighed 1lb. He was our miracle child as the doctors told us we would never carry him long enough to be born. He lived for 5 months in the neonatal intensive care unit and we were with him every day. Sebastian had all the normal premature concerns that any child born at his weight or gestational age would have. He had many surgeries and procedures while in the neonatal intensive care unit. In his short life here on earth he made a believer of God to many of the hospital staff because he kept defying all the doctors' textbooks. However, God had other plans for Sebastian and 5 months after his birth he brought him home to heaven. Sebastian brought so much love into our lives that we knew being parents was a gift we wanted to experience for the rest of our lives. Sebastian taught us many things and brought so much awareness to so many people. He was very strong and had the look of love in his eyes. Sebastian made us the people we are today and we will be such great parents because of our experience with him. As adoptive parents we know that we will be able to give all of the love and support that your child will need in life to make him/her happy.
What We Expect We’ll Like Most About Being Parents
We've talked about being parents for so long and there are so many things we look forward to. Even though our son was with us for a short time we loved being parents. We loved caring for him in the hospital by holding him, changing him and telling him stories in his bed. We have a niece who is 1 years old and we love spending time with her. It is so exciting to watch her grow. We can only imagine what joy it will be with our own child again. We believe it will be rewarding to help shape a child's mind and teach them about life. We know we will learn from them as well. David loves sports and is excited to play catch and teach him/her all he knows about sports. Another thing we love to do is go to Disney World. We love seeing the looks on the faces of the children and seeing their smiles and how excited they get, giving us this energy and happiness that is indescribable. It will be a dream to go to Disney World as a family. We guess what we are trying to say is that it is not just one thing in particular that we will like about being parents. There are so many things that define being a parent and we are excited and ready for every single experience.
Our Pets
Our Family
We currently have four furry kids Lady Girl, Lucky, Lars, & Dusty. Our dogs are our faithful friends and are always there for us and they make us laugh. Each one is unique in their own way however all of them were rescued. Lucky is a Bichon Frise that we literally scraped up off of the road. We took him to the emergency vet after rescuing him and now he is just a ball of energy with 3 working legs. Lady Girl is our Beagle that we found in a park while having a picnic lunch and she just loves kids. Lars is a German Shepard Rottweiler mix and is the biggest goof ball, we got him from an animal rescue group, he is a very loyal and affectionate. Dusty is our newest kid on the block and he is a Golden Retriever. We got him also from the same animal rescue group as Lars. Dusty just loves to run in the yard and play fetch. All of our dogs love children. Our dogs are an important part of our family.
